Tuesday, May 29th, Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini halted production after an earthquake killed 10 people in Italy, were their plants are situated.

The three luxury-car manufacturers declared the plants were not damaged, but the workers were sent home. At 9 a.m. a 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit Modena, followed by a 5.6-magnitude aftershock after noon.

“All the workers and employees have been allowed to join their families” Ferrari said on its Twitter account.

Maserati has its headquarters in the city of Modena, Lamborghini is based in Sant’Agata Bolognese, 12 miles east of Modena, while Ferrari is headquartered 11 miles southeast in Maranello. A total of 5,000 workers were sent to their homes, production being expected to resume on Wednesday, May 30th.

The earthquake was also felt in Milan, were several buildings and schools had been evacuated, but the majority of damaged buildings were located in Cavezzo, Medolla and Mirandola. This is the second earthquake this month in the region, the first one centered near Finale Emilia, killing 7 people on May 20th.

Scary stuff Matt.....Italy has some very prone areas, didn't think they went this far north. Touch wood nothing happens anyone at all as regards any more quakes.
