Hi all,

Dick Lovett Swindon have a Maserati Ghibli in their dealership at the moment. I don't think it's going to be there too long, maybe just a few days.

I went to have a look this morning. The example they have is black with brown interior, on 19" rims. It's a good looking car, but I felt it lacked some presence on this size of wheel and I will be opting for 20" minimum.

I had considered black as a colour option, but I have changed my mind after today. I think I will go for pearlescent white with bordeaux interior and red calipers.

Pics to follow.

LOVE THE BROWN INTERIOR.....See Dem we always said its the next fashion statement...........Pat, ou are right about the wheels they look too small..Are they the 19's...There are 20 and 21 on the option list I believe.

I didn't see it yesterday Andy, but they had a gorgeous F12 in reception. The Ghibli seemed nicer in black than the one that was a Goodwood FoS; I was told that it's being trailered away today so if you give them a bell they'll probably be able to tell you its destination.

Honestly, the way Maserati have handled the Ghibli launch is pathetic to say the least. There should be more demonstrators available to test drive and the dealers should have been put in a much more informed/better position to be able to sell these cars.

In a recent article, Harald Wester was quoted as saying:

"As it has thin marketing budgets, Maserati won't be able to advertise its new products much, if at all. The company must rely heavily on word of mouth and grassroots efforts at the dealer level to reach the independent thinkers it aims to attract. By the end of the year, Maserati plans to add 19 dealerships to its existing network of 50 in the United States."

If that is the case then why not handle the launch better? We are theoretically only a couple of months away from first deliveries?

Going against the grain...I don't really like the colour of the interior!!

It does need larger wheels.

Other than that I think it is a cracking car.

Why on earth they chose to have all the promotional pictures in that horrible beige colour I will never know. In white, black or a variety of shades of blue - that car looks brilliant!
