Maserati Car History Question

Hi everyone,

I’ve been fascinated by Maserati’s rich history and wanted to dive deeper into the evolution of their cars over the years.

From their early racing dominance to their modern luxury sports cars, it’s clear Maserati has a unique legacy.

Does anyone know which models were pivotal in transitioning Maserati from a racing brand to a luxury-focused automaker?

Also, what role did their partnerships with other companies, like Citroën or Ferrari, play in shaping their direction?

Looking forward to learning more from fellow enthusiasts—your insights would be greatly appreciated!

It was the introduction of the 3500GT in 1957 which was the most important change point in the company's history, it sold very well and kept the company afloat. the last one was built in 1964.

There have been many moments in time when Maserati was hanging on for dear life. Even now Stellantis is contemplating it's future. Don't quite know why Maserati has never risen to Lambo or Ferrari heights. Maybe it's a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time once too often.
