Hi, has anyone done the following. Looking for some advise.

Want to if possible just lower my 4200 by maybe an inch. Nothing drastic. Seen some Springs that H & R make. But would these work with Skyhook. Any help would be appreciated. Recommendations.

Another one is Exhaust upgrade. Nothing to loud just a nicer tone. Any ideas on good ones, Quicksilver make one I believe? Once again any recommendations.

Many thanks

If its a uk spec car the you can lower the ride height to GS spec 10mm lower IIRC with the suspension set up you already have.

Exhaust wise change the mid section to a x pipe for more scream or H pipe for a deeper tone. Its a subtle change but if thats not enough then you can change the rear cans to make it louder.

If your 4200 is a facelift then the difference in ride height between GS and facelift is 5mm IIRC.

Ive got a set of tubi rears in the garage if you want to go down that route.

It is a UK spec car. Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by "lower the ride height to GS spec 10mm lower IIRC"

Many thanks, how much for the Tubis? Was thinking of just doing the rears. I don't want it to loud tbh. Just nice overall tone.

The GS sits lower from the factory than the classico and facelift versions of the 4200. The dampers on all three versions are adjustable so you can lower your car without changing any suspension parts.

Put GS springs on it too they are cheap I’ll have one in next week I’ll count the threads on the shocks so you have a place to start.

Here you go ride height specs for Classico and Gransport variants of the 4200 and if my memory serves the facelift was between the two.

4200 Front 162mm Rear 180mm (measured from the centre of the mounting bolt for the lower wishbone)
GS Front 152mm Rear 170mm

Didn't think there was such a thing as specific GS springs, just a change of spring from the MY2003 that all 42/GS had from then on.

Send your back boxes to Jaren Metalworks- find him on eBay- he does a nice job of modifying the originals to make more noise whilst retaining the OEM fit and finish and no drone...He also has an exchange arrangement available. They come back looking like new. Sound clips on his auction pages....
Find him eBay ( searly71 or some such handle IIRC)

You can lower your car with a C spanner to get it a bit lower. As mentioned Jaren metalworks give a better sound. I’ve had these on mine for a couple years now they sound ace

I’m doing the same to my 2002 spyder in a couple of weeks, I’ll let you know how it goes.
Currently have straight through (no) rear boxes and want to tone it down a bit what are the Tubi’s like and how much do you want for them?

I think the Tubi's are like the Larini, they might be a box, but nothing inside them, I've pocked a camera up mine for a look, nothing but an empty space!
