Hey guys,

For some reason lately when i take my car out, sometimes it drives perfect and sometimes it feels like all the horses are gone and I cant get it to rev higher than 3.5-4k, in this case the car speeds up only up to 100kmh and thats it.

I tried resetting the throttle but i guess im not doing it right, reseted it once with a computer, it worked fine for 10 minutes and then came back again... Any idea what it can be? or what can I do about it?

I live in the Dominican Rep. my car is unique here... we do have an Alfa Romeo dealer and a newer Maserati dealer(who has no idea or parts for my car).

My car is a Maserati 3200gt 2001, automatic, imported from Italy.

Thanks,

Yair

Any dash lights on ....CEL light sounds like it might be going into limp mode , most likely either the throttle body /throttle pot , worth checking on the dealers diagnostic , if it is we have a guy on here (Boomerang ) his name is , he does a solid state conversion unit so you'll never have trouble with it again , quite easy to take it off and , send him a personal message on here if its found to be the problem

Could be a maf problem if not throttle try disconnecting it and take her for a run, ull have iding problems but if u get full rev range back and pulls like a train the ull need a replacement one.

sounds like limp home mode, you should be getting a warning light on the dash when this happens? Your car is the same make and year as mine so it will have a standard ODBII socket under the dash near the steering column. You need to get an ODBII reader or get a garage to read the codes for you. This will tell you whats causing the problem, unfortunately it could be a number of things.

Get the code read and reset - then you will know what is wrong, limp mode can be caused by all kinds of things.
