There is some sort of metal strip in the door rubber, Lord knows what it's for though, I can't see how it's anything to do with anti-pinch though it might some sort of position sensor. I get a pic of the replacement one I bought....

If there's not connection to anything else, it's just a structural thing. I was under the impression that the anti-pinch used motor load....

Dear friends, I've just tried opening the passenger door from inside and felt something snap and now it won't open,
it still opens from outside so I don't think it will be a solenoid and it did feel mechanical,
I'm happy taking the door card off to explore but has anyone any experience on what I might find ?
