What has this forum become?

I remember when men were men, Andy's local sheep were nervous, and we all had scuffed knuckles from inexpert spannering.
We've become expert spannerers because we've spent less time folding T-shirts...

Andy's local sheep are still nervous though... probably from pistonhead readers....

Lovely motor. The problem however with these museum pieces are you immediately ruin them if you drive them from such a low mileage base, negating the premium you paid for the low mileage. That’s OK if buying eyes wide open (I have done something similar but different in buying a late low mileage GT). If your not planning to drive it or drive it but not worried about it’s value, then all good.

Yep as a sunny Sunday and show car these things make sense, otherwise, no.

Interesting comments….Have you bought yours in the hope of retaining most if not all the price you paid?

If it was now worth double the purchase price because of the low mileage it could’ve been a shrewd move not using it much, but after 15 years and still hard pushed to get 3/4 the purchase price seems like someone’s backed the wrong horse imho.

This thread has got me thinking...

How are you supposed to fold your socks? I've been making pairs into a small ball, is this correct or is there some other life hack way of doing it?

51 and still learning about life...

I have always ironed my socks and pants ................just a habit from bob a job days ..............he says rocking backwards and forwards whilst twiddling his rosary beads

My curious mind now needs to know what a GS and the GS Victory sold for when new...
From the UK brochure of 2006, the GS had a list price of £66,645 while the MC-Victory was £72,595. (Both excluding any chosen optional extras.)
So the additional £5950 for the MC-V was money well spent, not only for the driving experience, but for the subsequent higher residual value.

Ewan, does the brochure mention price of the GS Spyder?

Very interesting numbers. The special editions were not so much more than the Spyder Cambiocorsa, but so much more now.

What was a Ferrari 360 at the time? £90k? Close to that now as well?

Exactly the opposite. I bought it in order to put as many miles on it as I get a chance to in full knowledge of the plunging value as a result. I also bought as close to new as I could afford because I wanted to be the one maintaining the car to my standard as early on its life as possible (already under sealed at SportsItalia and added PPF) as I plan to keep it for many years. 5k miles in 9 months I think last time I looked. France, wales, the midlands (France again in a couple of months) and many sunny day trips which is not bad for a 4th car. If your planning to use it and can stomach the depreciation (which I’m happy to), all good!

I find the amounts quoted very interesting..
So depreciation in the UK is somewhat less than we experience here in Australia..
From memory a new Gransport new in Australia was around the $240k , Gransport $270k and MCV list was around $300k.
Any Aussie who can confirm or correct me on these figures i welcome to chime in.
Going by the UK asking prices now we have suffered a much larger depreciation in Australia than the UK..
Example MCV in UK now ... Lets say 50K is a depreciation of approx 55% depreciation
In Australia the deprecation is closer to 66%

When I bought my 360 Modena F1 back in 2013 for £39,000 with it being a 04 MY I felt it was a bargain.
