There is money to be had here hence the company.

The reason the Aussis import them in from the UK is down to one thing, price.

Why not organise it yourself and save some of your hard earned?

Hi Matt, having imported my own car and been through the process unfortunately there is not a huge amount that you can save other than the sourcing fee as its Govt taxes and the compliance cost that makes up most of the money. The rub is when you are importing you are captive to those who are licensed to "comply" the vehicle and of course they know the numbers game as well as the buyers so there is a bit of reverse engineering which still makes it attractive to import but allows a nice profit on the compliancing.

Im sure some of your will recognise this car - recently offered by Autofficina

http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/d...07-11608844?vertical=Car&cr=9&eapi=2&__N=1216 1246 1247 1252 1282 4294965360 4294964989&distance=25&silo=Stock&Range=Price:Min,Max~1&sort=default

Supposedly on its way down to OZ, now hows that for a price.

Adam based on my estimates thats a pretty tidy markup About 30,000 AUD more than you could could do importing directly!! Maybe we should be in the businesss

Dont get over exited on the ridiculos price - similar car GS blk sypder OZ delivered has been for sale over 12 mths and still no takers

Importing woudnt do it to try and make a quid but serious option if you want to get into one of these cars at a reasonable price

Ton of ex UK 360F s flooding the market which has created havock with prices - now theres a go - opps cannot fit in golf clubs

Couldn't do it Dem as the first one we bought I would want to keep...

Yeah but if you managed to sell it, the second you could keep - as it would be free

On a serious note, difficult to go down that path, probably the better angle might be to provide a sourcing avenue along hte lines what Dicky is doing

IMO there is scope for spotting top notch vehicles for offshore buyers - assuming the **** doesnt fall out of our dollar & economy

The smart money does not buy cars and advertise in AUS they find a Aus based buyer and source the car for them. Effectively pre sold. otherwise Like Adam01 says you end up long of cars with big price tags,,, The car business in Aus is very small compared to the UK and the UK motor trade could teach the Aussies a few things about selling cars and customer service.
