Looking at buying a GranTurismo how do you tell the difference between auto and MC?

That's very red and rather like it...Prefer the look of the grigio granito one as it has the side skirts which the blue one doesn't..

Agreed. I'd want the side skirts.

When I first thought about getting a GT 4.7 I mentioned this blue/red car on a thread. I eventually decided against it on the basis that I really wanted the manual gearbox, side skirts, and sports exhaust. But every time I look at pictures of this particular car I still have a little "want it" feeling.

It's true, it's not just the transmission that did it for me with the MC-S over the auto - the skirts and the lovely lip spoiler on the boot made a real difference for me

True - for me it was the sound and the entire look of the vehicle - the darker headlights also make the world of a difference :)

Ewan, do you know how long the blue one has been for sale now ?
Personally I do not mind the red interior but always a risk when coming to resell :-( I remember looking at a Carrera 4 997 with red leather nothing wrong with it and the cheapest out there at the time still took months to sell .......

Most GranTurismos seem to be either Black or grey ( nothing wrong with that but getting fed up of cleaning dark cars constantly )

I noticed the odd white/yellow/red cars but guessing the red and yellow ones might be hard to shift come resale .....?

It will kill the car dead that interior come resale.

Thing is you buy it with a red interior and sell it with one so the prices should match.

Another option is to swap the steering wheel out for a black one albeit the top dash is still red. FWIW they stopped offering top dash in lighter colours in about 2011 due to reflection issues.

With interiors like that, I think it's not so much that you have to suffer a drop in price it's more the point that it takes an age to sell, waiting for someone with the same taste to come along. And yet in many Alfa Romeos, it seems to be a desirable choice of colour

Is as bob says the dash reflection will drive you mad all year round. That interior is pretty much the same as every single one I have seen on GTs for sale in the Middle East (Qatar and UAE). It's an acquired taste and the car would have to have a significant discount to a say Nero interior and as Stuart says could take an age to sell.
