Hi all

Thought I would say hello - so hello!

New to forum and new proud owner of a 2004 Coupe 4200 GT. Manual 6 speed. Wanted a Maserati for a number of years and first week of ownership has been great. Love rare powerful cars and so glad I took the plunge for the Coupe.

Previous cars include VX220 Turbo, Renaultsport Clio, Renault-Alpine GTA V6 Turbo...But the Maserati is by far the best, great performance, great style, very rare and perfect for the family with 4 seats and a boot! Ideal supercar with performance and practicality!

Cheers and a great forum by the way.:luvit:

Hi James and a warm welcome to the forum. So you found a manual! Great to hear you're enjoying it. Get settled in, but it would be great to hear more about your car? I see you're in Northants. We have pretty regular 'Midlands" meets, usually near Rugby. It would be great to have you join us for the next one, though it'll probably be in the New Year now. Or if you fancy it, we have a Christmas meet on the 11th December starting at Ace Cafe on the North Circular. The details are in the events thread. Regards, Miles.

The GTA V6 Turbo was a really great car. Owned for 12 years and spent 3.5 years restoring to concourse. Won many shows, looked just right in red with full black leather interior. Typical 80's turbo installation, lots of lag, then oh my gawd...as the power all came in around 3500 rpm, real hard shove in the back, mid range was phenomenal. Quite light, composite shell so no rust issues and an engine taken and tweaked from the 25 turbos so good reliability. Only sold due to getting some good offers following the 2008 NEC Classic and Sports car show where it was on the Maguires concourse stand. The VX replaced the Alpine, the Maserati has replaced the VX. The Maserati is a morph of my two previous cars I think - it has the speed of the VX turbo and the Coupe practicality of the Alpine and rarity too! Alpines are underrated cars in the UK, but the rest of Europe knows better!

Welcome James and great choice of car .. Don't forget if you get time to post a few pics of your new baby.

Loved the GTA V6 Turbo .. Very underated car and a real steal today. Was it reliable? Oh and again got any pics to share.

A warm welcome to the land of all things Maserati James , great previous history you have , pics of both cars are a must when you have time and have mastered the where with all, look forward to your input , plenty of informative info and people on here as and when those Italian foibles show there ugly heads , hopefully not that often , manuals are rarish only 20% of manufacture , great cars to drive , just make sure those gear linkages are adjusted reguarly when it gets a little knotchy getting into gear , usually starts with 2nd

regards loz
