Just be mindful of how far you want to go Andy, from what I've read the fine clay bars will not remove any existing polish and so are good for a finishing detail. The coarser ones will remove the polish and will take you back to the paint surface and so you'll need to re-polish afterwards.

How do you go from scratch repair to abuse of hamsters!!!

Anyway back to thread, You will need more than a clay bar if the scratch is deaper, a very mild cutting compound. If is down to the primer then nothing will remove it. There is an excelent Detaininf Forum http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/ that wll give you plenty to rad on how to and products used.

Me, I use swisvax all the time...pricy but the dirt just drops off.

the guy next door just cement rendered part of his house and Ros's car has got splatters of cement on it which had hardened by the time I noticed it.
I am afaid to touch it in case I do damage to the paint.
is there anything that will get it off

I think you might find damage done to the paint work Rob.....photograph it in situ........in case you've got to make a claim....unless your very good mates and everything can be forgiven!

Might be best to contact Jay off his thread and seek his advise!

thats probably the best route, as he's got the spyder at the moment.
dont want to claim against the neighbour , the car was parked what we thought was a safe distance from where he was working, just one of those things.

oddly enough, today I am using brick acid to get cement off some old reclaimed bricks, maybe...........................

" I am using brick acid"....yes...great idea....and after use a brillo pad wire brush and sander to make sure you've all the cement off.....;)

Your neighbour is responsible.....not up to you to move your belonging far enough away....hes not supposed to let damaging material escape from his property....full stop.....!
