Leaving your GT in public places

If I'm going into town I will walk instead of risking parking the Maserati somewhere, so yes I think carefully where it's left, would never leave it in a normal parking space, I leave it on quiet roads, but not a car park

I use my Maserati everyday as my everyday car. That means I park in public car parks, at the supermarket, at the side of the road. I do take car when I park but I wouldn't avoid parking somewhere I wanted to be because of my car.

I've yet to have anything spiteful done to it. I have had people stop and chat about it for 5-10 minutes.

Agreed. Me too. I park in tescos and Sainsbury's in Swansea of all places. Often don't get a second look!
Parked there for a year- all I have had is people driving out without opening
Their door... leaving their wife to get in after they are out of
The space as they didn't want to damage 'such a stunning car'. Agreed I maybe lucky but only has positive feedback.
My favourite was parking outside a school as it was the only space- only to have about 25 8 year olds taking photos and asking how fast it went.

If I was back in Manchester it might
Be different. I had my ****** old Merckx scratched there.

I never park my Maserati in a shopping car park I use my workhorse when shopping its a 27 year old Mitsubishi 7 seater 4x4 the bumpers are heavy steel gurders Built like a tank its allready wrote off the neighbours car when she ran into the back of it did not put a scratch on the 4x4 so if shoppers want to take a piece out of my 4x4 they are more than welcome I know who will be the looser Ha Ha ...

I've got a friend with a Ferrari that he's had from new for a year and it's done less than 500 miles and I think most of those were to the car wash! I wonder whether he's actually going to have any enjoyment of it?

Agree. I don't understand buying a garage queen unless it's your job to buy and sell cars.
I feel guilty not using mine. You
Have to use it to enjoy it. My dad says If you don't want to drive it because you are scared of the mileage , petrol or it getting damaged- you can't really afford it.

Sorry there seems to be some kind of thing that says 'I'm not parking my Maserati because it might get hit' But it's got the same chance of getting hit as any other car (unless the deliberate vandals exist)

And when they get hit, getting them fixed is not really any different to getting any other car fixed. In my experience.

I think if you aren't going to use it - there is no point in having it. It could get hit when you are using it from people who don't know how to drive!

My first post was more discussing the arguments for and against and supposing what you could do.

What I mean about being dubious is I would think about where I would park it i.e. not try and shove it in a tight space where you can't get out of it. I'd probably aim for a quieter part of the car park although I prefer the walk anyway. I wouldn't not park in a car park just because of what it was...

I don't think Maserati has the same image problem as some marques as I stated before - it seems to be more of a enthusiast following.

Some people also don't want to clock up miles on it. I've every intention of using it as a daily driver and clocking up whatever mileage I can!

I was talking to a guy with a really nice 3200 a couple of months ago , there was a deep 50p sized dent right in the middle of the passenger door , a supermarket scar

Previous cars have been bangernomics so I just parked anywhere but now I have nice cars I want them to stay nice

It's not usually adults that dent cars , it's the kids throwing the doors open

Vandalism is rare so that doesn't worry me

I think less about parking the Maserati pass than the Elise, but then a subtle silver Italian coupe draws less attention than a bright green loud magnetic, and dings aren't as bad as fibre glass cracks!

Oh ****. There's several car parks around here that I won't park in. Cos I know I won't get out again....

I can't take mine to work because there is a very small Multi-storey there which means certain wheel kerbage!

Oh and just for a bit of balance here guys mine was vandalised on my drive so all this worry of having it damaged when out in the public is the least of my worries! :D

you guys are lucky. I can't leave mine anywhere. At the very least all the badges would be stolen. Probably get keyed, and smashing ones door open in to the car parked alongside is a national sport here!
