Sounds fun, better than sleeping in a tent at the circuit...

I've always wanted to go see the old circuit buildings at Reims and there's the Millau Viaduct to tick off as well.

I actually got in a convoy with a Lambo and Aston and a Esprit a few years ago, I'd booked a Git in the Descartes region and hadn't realised the dates coincided with race week, was a fun journey down, didn't go to Le Mans though as we were meeting up with friends down there so already had quite a lot of stuff planned.

Lovely part of the world.

Back on the 'bling' subject... stickers tunred up from HolloGraphics today! Lovely quality, my number 59s for the doors, bootlid and bonnet, big Le Mans logos, driver/co-pilot names, some big Union Flags, big Chronograph HEUER badges and the obligatory GULF stickers!

The yellow mouth and stripe with go on first and will drive to Belgium with them on. I'll then add the little ones prior to Le Mans.

Also considering a DBS carbon fibre bonnet that's on eBay at the moment... this is starting to get silly now though :)

The old circuit pit lane is WELL worth a visit, they do a little more refurbishment every year and make it look a bit better. You also get the very long pit straight there and there isn't much traffic about... if you take my meaning ;)

Never done the Millau, but I will one day. A work of engineering art.

What...?...a real carbon fibre bonnet or a graphic?

Oh no, REAL and proper structural carbon fibre, it's from the DBS... It'll be painted the same colour as the car if it happens! Just an extra couple of vents, a very subtle but good looking change... but a very nice weight saving in a very good place, high up on the front end!

Depends what it'll cost to have painted and fitted - if I need a shed-load of struts, liners and so on then I might not. But just picked up my new Quicksilver backbox for a grand instead of £2k so it's tempting... Will ask my mechanic if it's a straight swap, it may not fit!

Lewis, just back from Bristol event and went naked..... HOLD fire on the thought I mean the car did....no decals this time!

Spoke with Enzo on this matter of bling for our Le Mans trip and though I have brought a few bits so far I would be very interested to know how the decals from Hollographics are looking? I may have to go overboard and buy a bundle of decals for the event... just a kid at heart!

So by the sounds of it Lewis, your loving the Aston and can not keep your hand out of your pocket.

Problem with that Adam is that there's nothing in there anymore!

S'pose I'll find it same as usual. Exhaust delivered (slightly dodgy sitiaution) and money paid so it's in the boot of the Golf ready for the convoy uo to Derby Tuesday morning http://www.derbymotorservices.com/ If the carbon bonnet is a straight swap with a bit of paint... well who am I to argue :)

They're really nice quality, I'm very pleased with them. Car is going to look fantastic, so tempted to do them now but that would be *very* silly. Worth a punt Paul and Enzo, seriously.

Paul, still on for Saturday?

DBS style carbon bonnet would be one nice addition. I saw a DBS Volante the other day and instantly thought of you Lewis, they are one h3ll of a good looking car.

Ah, got you...Thought for a min you were going to have a black carbon fibre bonnet on that pretty car of yours like the 911 GT2 RS...I was concerned.......Should look good Lewis.

Lewis, Bling Bling,

I am seriously tempted to buy from Hollographics - going to have a bit of a Chrome Decal this year.... But I am tempted to get the numbers and the LM side door decals etc. too...

I agree, the temptation to use the decals before the event is very high and peoples reaction can be mixed.......not to worry though
