WHS+1. They only tell you that you have been caught. I am religious about 30mph zones as they reflect populated areas such as villages and I don't want to kill anyone who makes the mistake of walking into my path. I enjoy my cars on open roads.
A certain reprobate from Norn' Ireland was using a laser detector on the MOB running up through Switzerland (very naughty) on the mountains and it pinged from over two miles away (by road), we slowed to acceptable very quickly and the said device got shoved in the depths of the passenger seat by his wife! As we crawled around the other side of the valley there was a copper with a telephoto laser device posing as a wildlife photographer! Seems they had had a tip off of a bunch of loonies heading that way and they were using a spotter. Around the corner from him was a full trap setup on a fast downhill! Saved our bacon for sure.
I accept they are not great in urban areas but a laser in the mountains is not going to be a false hit.
Not sure it went under the seat, but was certainly stashed where they shouldn't be looking!A certain reprobate from Norn' Ireland was using a laser detector on the MOB running up through Switzerland (very naughty) on the mountains and it pinged from over two miles away (by road), we slowed to acceptable very quickly and the said device got shoved in the depths of the passenger seat by his wife! 'If you want to attract our attention, repeatedly gesturing at police camera vans with your middle finger while you're driving a distinctive car fitted with a laser jammer is an excellent way to do it.
'It's also an excellent way to end up in prison. As Hill's case shows, perverting the course of justice is a very serious charge which carries a custodial sentence.' said a policeman.

I didn’t say it went under the seat Eb; I was leaving it up to the readers to interpret exactly where she put it!
Ah yes - iirc it was the 'walkie talkie' that hastily disappeared just leaving the aerial visible......I didn’t say it went under the seat Eb; I was leaving it up to the readers to interpret exactly where she put it!
