Larini for Gentlemen

Guys

Having digested all the stuff written re Larini here and over the road I'm taking the plunge finally with my new 4200.

I'd like just a little bit more of a note without Emtee hearing me 2 miles away every time I reverse out of my garage!

So looking to fit a set of back boxes.

Is this the way to go for a gentlemanly noise upgrade?

Cheers

Dave

Dave, So long as you're not setting off for work at some ungodly hour, go for it! Mind you even if you are, what an alarm clock!! Hope the new car is behaving? Cheers, Miles.

Dave,

Theres always the valved rear Larini boxes, so you can keep the valves closed and keep the noise down and open up the valves when you really want her to sing.

If your looking for just a subtle increase in noise, another option is upgrading the centre section to the X pipe or the H Pipe. Feel free to PM or give me a call, if you want to discuss any specifics.

Thanks

Definitely H-pipe + valved mufflers vs. X-pipe + valved mufflers (latter will be louder with more farts and pops).

I have the H-pipe, and my initial reaction was that it was more "sophisticated" than when I had my US-spec OEM GS X-pipe (does not apply to others on here). I plan on reverting to the factory centre section.

If you think you can get away with a secondary de-cat, then start there (major boost in torque and responsiveness and a wicked sound without being OTT). Alternatively a "silenced" de-cat is another option (good if you are doing more mods to the rest of the exhaust).

Then build from there...centre section (H-pipe) and finally the muffler (if you still want more volume).

If you go the other way around then definitely do the H-pipe + mufflers.

Good luck!

Dave, the best part of my car is the exhaust by a country mile. Ok its not cheap, but hey, you only live once, this is not a practice run....get in there and buy them.

You can always sell them at a later date. We bought ours on a group buy, so we got maybe a 35% discount, plus I am VAT registered so I could recover that also.

When I sell them in about a year, I recon I wont loose a penny on them, maybe even be up a little.

I have the LARINI valved rear boxes, OEM link pipes, LARINI H centre section, LARINI secondary decat pipes with very light resonators in place of the cats, OEM cat headers. This system should retail for nearly £4k all in, but I paid nothing like that.

I was not aware that we have any gentlemen here

Me too...thought most of them were ladees.....;)

Matts and Lozs boxes are truly awesome.......the local French people thought they had diverted the Le Mans 24 hrs through their villages!!!!

Dave , worth having a word with David at Larini , i agree with Noor maybe worth getting the valved boxes , David was developing a switched system whereby 4200 's can have them on and off with sport mode , similar to that of the gransport

The Granturismo S does not need an exhaust update........it sounds perfect even with the standard system. As for the Gransport I really don't know. When I hear your car Matt I have to admit I am tempted.
