@outrun how's yours been?

It's magic, I love it. Only had one in issue in over 3 years ownership which was a fault with the petrol cap nozzle, it's common and annoying as the issue is a plastic seal but you need to buy the whole pipe with the seal, they won't sell the seal alone. So a 50p cost me £500 to fix. Other than that, it's superb.

It's now out of the service pack to will cost this year for the first time. It's literally only cost the £500 (no idea why but not under warranty) in 3 years, including annual main dealer services, one of which was a belt service. That's probably approaching £10k of saved costs. This is good news as it formed part of my man maths caluculation when buying it and helps to justify my use of the Man Maths Calculator Deluxe Edition 2000 when purchasing.

Oh, sorry, it cost £55 a year to MOT as well. But they collected it in a covered trailer, lent me a nice car and brought it back. Losing a fortune every time they did!

it's a cracking piece of kit, that's man-maths calc of yours with all of its wee tabs, coloured cells and 'wife cooling off' graphs. Proper piece of maths wizardry.

But, it still amazes me that my little Aston'll show your FF a clean pair of heels away from the péage booth. ;-)

For some reason, my Man Maths edition features a setting that convinces the wife/girlfriend/partner to suggest getting a new car...it also then prompts a forum member to sell their car to you. It's in the settings somewhere

Thats awesome, glad you’re still enjoying it and it’s been a good un. All you ever hear is the small percentage of ownerships thats negative, nice to hear a positive experience for a change.

It’s hidden so you don’t actually press the rusty Renault button.

I think that it's more of a case that the dealership told JM that they would disclose full details but BCA didn't have a mechanism to allow this. I'm not saying that BCA are heartless capitalists or anything...

If there's a 12-cylinder shoot off happening at some point I quite fancy my chances...!

Your car may have the weight and general heft of a slightly re-purposed intergalactic battleship, but I suspect the gearbox and 4WD will give you a few points of advantage over my RWD automated manual.

It's going in for new manifolds next month so at least it'll be able to breathe properly at last.

On paper I think the FF has it - in the real world I think I would put my money on the Vantage.

Realistic. Not a prayer that my RWD car can take off as fast as a heavily breathed-on 4WD. Mine gets pretty squirrely when you put your foot down, which makes it tremendous fun but it'll never be the fastest off the blocks. Even as standard MAF's Mentley is a shade quicker than mine to 60, which I imagine is largely helped by having four driven wheels and a stuffing great pair of turbos.

correction: both 3.8 to 60. The Bently edges ahead over the quarter-mile, which it reaches half a second sooner.

Then there's the extra horsepowers mine has over standard ;)

That's what I'm thinking. And your extra twist.

Have you had it dyno'd? I'll be a shade over 600 with the exhaust and the mapping. Maybe 610, max 620. I'd guess you'd be up in the mid-high 7xxs.

On the upside, mine weighs about half a ton less. :)

From some of the numbers I've seen, that would be conservative. I'd not be over surprised if it was an 8 or even a 9
