I was browsing, as I do now and then, and came across this beautiful Khamsin for sale (£40k). Sounds like a good pedigree and good order, last owner for 18 years etc.

Might be worth a drool over the keyboard, or if anyone been sufficiently inspired by Bal's (aka Khamsin433) project thread....

David

PS I have no connection to the seller or car.

Had a good look at it the other day. It's lovely, loud, and bloody quick too.

That's George Perfects car. Heard he wasn't too well so looks like he's selling the baby off.
I think he started a web site a while back called something like Maserati information exchange. Used to have good information on tech tips etc.

Be a nice grab for someone as it's all ready to go. I take it Marios is selling it on George's behalf. Never met the guy but a nice guy who was ready to help when I firt got my car.

I was driving home during the week and noticed a Khamsin for sale out the front of Patrix Prestige opposite the Paper Mills in Alphington (Melbourne).
It has not appeared on their website as yet, but the owner tells me it is for sale at $45k (about 29k GBP).
Same owner for the last 30 years, full service history, etc.
That seems awfully cheap; certainly cheaper than a Merak would fetch.
I might try to get more details if anyone is interested, but at that price I think it will go very quickly.
BTW, colour is dark blue, but not sure about interior.
Another fellow less than one kilometre up the road owns a silver one!

Scarlan, Don't suppose your government shell out the equivelent of the 'compliancing' fees if someone were to export it again? That would make it a real steal!

That is a good question.
I am not sure what taxes are imposed on sending a car out of the country.
Quite possibly none as there would be none of the compliance and loss of potential sales to the local car suppliers.
I know our friends in New Zealand buy a lot of their cars from here, but they are treated as though they are part of Australia anyway (unless it has something to do with Trevor Chappell)!

In a normal commercial transaction where goods r imported and gov.taxes applied ie gst, duty if the item is then exported application is made for a drawback of such charges

Local compliance costs not being gov charges would not be eligible

There maybe time limit as well ie go back x yrs
