Key Problem

Gents,

Got a confusing problem here that hopefully some knowledgable soul can shed some light on!

When I bought my car I got all 3 keys, 1 red and 2 black.

All keys will start the car, however with one of the black keys the "plipper" won't lock or unlock the car.

Now.. I've seen some information around on how to sync up 4200 keys and thought the 3200 may be the same.. but I think there is a detail I'm missing. If I lock/unlock the car with the working key remotely about 10 times it stops responding. I press the "plipper" on the "faulty" key and wait a little.. I then put the "faulty" key in the ignition and initialise the car.

From this point on the "faulty" key now works a treat.. until that is I use the original working key (which still works fine).. then the "faulty" key stops working again.. argh!

Whats up? How do I get both keys synced and working continuously?

All suggestions welcome :)

Cheers

Mark

Mark, have you been inside the faulty key to check the contact / circuit? Might just be mucky?

Using a valid key operate the button 16 times. At this point only that remote is valid and all others are locked out. Within 8 seconds operate another transmitter. Wait 30 seconds and the learning sequence will end and all transmitters used will be valid and al others locked out.

This is as per the factory service manual. Hope it helps...

Hi Neil,

Perfect!.. that sounds good to me. I'll give it a try this evening when I finish work and let you know how I get on.

Fingers crossed!

Thank you

Hi Neil,

Sadly same results :(

I operate the main key until it's in the learning sequence. I then operate the "faulty" key and wait 30 seconds. At this point the "faulty" key operates the car absolutely fine... however as soon as I use the "good" key the "faulty" key stops working again!

Most confusing...

Cheers
