Hopefully we've all seen the weather reports. General advice is to avoid unnecessary travel until it blows over in your area. Expecting winds in excess of 80mph in some parts.

North West London: damp and heavy winds. However, so far, only one bin blown over in the road.

Last I heard, worst of it expected in these parts will be between 8am-10am....

Read the same - worst expected in London by 9, but generally anyone anywhere is as well to stay at home until around midday.

Otherwise East Anglia's a bit blowy this morning. Bins and garden furniture are where they were last night.

The (e)papers this morning said the worst will hit London by 9. Oddly the weather forecasts all indicate it will largely have blown over by 9. It's certainly getting stronger out east.

It got quite bad but quieter for last 10 mins. Do not know if it will rise again though Dem. Will keep you posted.

Reports in from my chaps at LHR - 1 hour 40 minutes to cover the 3 miles of airport perimeter road this morning, after spending about the same time crawling round the M25 in the north-west section. All are advising not attempting to travel in the area for a few hours.

Waiting for a train to London from Bristol. ..can't even get onto a carriage. ..oh well another hours wait
