Hello all,

After 3 1/2 years of talking about it and boring everyone I have finally bought a Gransport!

It is the red one listed on pistonheads and as usual with me bought the first one I saw.

shiltech carried out a pre-purchase inspection for me and reported it was a good car with few minor things to note, one being an oil weep from the power steering pressure hose. (Caused by the bracket on the front of the engine chaffing on the steel pipe as it was missing the mounting rubbers) - worth checking everyone as the pipe is cheap but replacement requires inlet manifold to come off.

This oil weep developed into a leak within the first 24 hrs so repair is now included in a service now at shiltech!

Anyway the car is simply awesome, I'll post some pics when it's back from service.

Looks like a perfect GS to me.
Low miles, low tax, stunning in red with the light interior, full leather.
What's not to like?

Nice, red suits the GS for some reason.

Obviously the key to Maserati is get out and enjoy them you won't be disappointed.

Hi GP79
Just read about your new purchase and happened to have an old EVO magazine review on the 2004 model at hand.
They sing its praises highly and I had forgotten how good the look, so I checked out google for a red one and yes, it is a great colour.
Welcome to the madness and post some pics when you can

Thanks for the warm welcome, it is stunning.

Wont make Ace Cafe as unlikely to have it back until end of the week and based in Leicestershire so bit of a trek.

I'll start studying up on the technical section!

Congratulations

Saw the car this morning at Shiltech. It's a beauty. Always liked red with cream since I had 4200 in that combo.

You are in good hands with Geoff and the team.
Whereabouts in Leicestershire are you based?

Hope you have many happy miles in the new car.

I'm over in market Bosworth, so only about 30 mins from Shiltech.

Yes, love the colour combo too!

Some awesome cars at Shiltech, especially the F40.

Love 'em in red. Gorgeous looking car. Welcome to Maserati ownership and welcome to the best **** car forum in the world.

And Leicestershire's a short hop to the Ace. I'm a local compared to Robert but still a good two hours away (slightly faster on the way home when the traffic's eased off) but it's well worth the run. Hope to see you there!

Congrats. I think it was you who I took for a lap of Brunty? Your car looked lovely parked up, shame I didn't get to see it at close quarters as I love them in red.

There is one in Charles Hurst in Belfast, if anyone wants me to do a tyre kick, happy to assist.

Prices going to go up again in the run up to Xmas...same as last year!

Come on Autofiscina, get some leggy GS's up for £33k, that should get the ball rolling again!
