I wonder if this was played again because he entered again this year and there will be a sequel. Hope so as he deserves another go.

He has a Granturismo in the programme, 4.2, not sure if he has sold it for a Grancabrio though.

Just noticed your avatar is the same car James Martin owns, did he enter in the A6 GCS again this year or another car???

Did anyone happen to recognise the garage that was doing the engine re-build? Just curious..............

Well it was full of F1 cars so that should narrow it down, but there wasn't a classic in sight, other than the Maserati? Why not send it back to Classiche? He bought it from Italy and got Adolfo Orsi to do the purchase report, so obviously did his homework there, but then send it to a garage that doesn't seem to specialise in classic restoration? Doesn't stack up?

Is this he show from last year? He makes a bit of a fool on himself as I understand it...

Hopefully will catch it on iPlayer :)

Absolutely......................No feeling for a car, or understanding of heritage...............who would understand classic cars and expect a rebuilt engine to handle the extremes after only 200 miles......we used to have stickers....please pass running in!!!!!!

Did he fund it? personally I don't think so!

I find his Live articles fatuous.... this week....John Lennon's ferrari....how can you possibly critisise it? not cos it was JL'.............s but to say a DB5 is better.......no power steering....big deal

Big up to the guy for doing the MM, would love to do it my self.

If I were in a position to enter (using my own money) I might have chosen the type of car carefully long before the event, and driven it in at least one regularity event before the MM. Might even have chose a car that finished it, first time around, if such cars exist. Maybe they left the choice of car late, to add some jeopardy to the programme. Still the guy's a proper petrol-head, especially for a yorkshireman to be spending that money on cars. Fezza at 23 , the boy done good.

Still you live for the day, and have to apply and enter when you get the chance. If he'd pulled it off he would be seriously in the money, and could afford to enter again "for free" with the profit.

He was head chef at Hotel du Vin when it started. it's now a chain and I don't believe he has any involvement anymore. He has a restaurant on a cruise ship and another opening in a Leeds casino, neither of which he runs, but is rather the executive chef. He also has a kitchen business, all of which add up to nine-tenths of fook-all in the scheme of things. I'm pretty sure he can cook a mean omelet (probably in less than 20 seconds :D), but he makes his money from books, TV and licensing. The guy's a brand.
