4200 plus Pzeros = disaster!

When out at DL's yesterday, I headed over to Castle Coombe with Andy and the boys and noticed upon returning to my car that I had a flat tyre.

100 miles from home and no spare, luckily it was a slow puncture so stopping every 30 miles or so to inflate meant I got home ok.

So, Sunday morning, had the tyre off expecting to find a nail in the tread but no, nothing.

It was a 2 inch split in the inner face of the tyre, the same as what happened to Loz in France just before his blew out (Setantas) caused by potholes. The reinforce side walls are so hard potholes cause the side wall to split the shoulder of the tyre

I have had 2 4200's now and both times this has happened. I am going to get a part worn fitted tomorrow (Pzero) and then once I have again taken the council to court (second time this year already) I am going to replace them with Falken 453/3's, better grip, better wear, softer sidewalls

So if anyone wants a set of Pzeros with 5mm of tread, let me know as they will be for sale in a months time.

cannot believe Falken have better grip than PZeros Matt. By grip, do you mean under wet maybe or dry as well?

It's just my personal feeling. The Falkens are excellent you really should try them.

The only place that the PZeros outperform them is on a track where you actually need the stiffened sidewall.

Incidentally the PZeros where fine on my GTS, its the low profile on the 4200 that causes the issues.

I had PZeros go for the same reason. Not impressed.

I have to say I stand by my michelin PS3, very durable tyres - hit a couple of nasty potholes in the past expecting to see a bulge/damage but have thankfully got away ok thus far.
