That I sold my Grancab to Dickie Grace to provide some garage space and part fund the purchase of my Gelscoe-built GT40P/1067 Toolroom copy.

I really do miss it and have just watched the JayEmm review again to make me even sadder. During my 2 years with it, I took it to my home near Le Mans a few times, and using the rear seats for extra luggage space, it was the perfect grand tourer for this 1k mile round trip. Def have another one at some point in the future. 9645196452

Exactly right Mike. Been a couple of times, and last visit I took up the option of riding along for the taxi run, which was a humbling experience. So cramped inside that you wonder how they got around to bail out if hit, with a parachute pack on and probably on fire too. Huge respect due to the WW2 aircrews!

Its a fantastic experience and sight, fully agreed a humbling experience and credit to all the brave folks. Yeah it's scary to think how on earth they would get out safely, if you haven't been yet Woodhall Spa is the home town for the Lancasters... The Petwood Hotel has in the bar area some Lancaster and war time memorabilia including a large tree branch hanging up which went through the cockpit of one Lancaster when coming in to landing a bit too low.

The Panton family who own Bush Tyres fitters in Lincolnshire, also own the East Kirkby museum etc...

Definitely give me a shout next time you're up this way, as I'm only about 10-15mins away. Be great to meet up again.

The visit to Just Jane was part of an AM meet for Vanquish owners a couple of years ago. We stayed at the Petwood and the Manager gave a talk about the history of the hotel and it’s WW2 connections. We also visited the memorial in Woodhall Spa, the new Bomber Command memorial and the RAF memorial flight base to see the Spitfires and Hurricanes. A great W/e in all and here is a photo of some of the cars at the Hotel and a couple of the aircraft.

Mine is a concours garage Queen so I took the GC as the forecast was rain. A great area for a car meet with good driving roads and loads of WW2 history.
