After 6 months off the road carrying out a significant amount of works to bring the 3200 to where it deserved to be including replacing the starter motor, water pump, cam/rocker cover gaskets, right hand side front cam sprocket cover gasket, cam belt, cam belt pulley bearings, dip stick tube o ring, dump recirculating valves, a number of inlet hoses, aux belt, oil cooler hose gaskets, inlet plenum o rings and chamber seal, all cooling manifold gaskets and a full engine oil and filer service. The oil leak from the front of the engine looks like it was the right hand cam front cover gasket which involved a fair bit of dismantling to find - the oil tracked down the front of the engine to the dip stick tube base leading me to think it was the oil pump/front crank seal, which actually was fine.

I have to say I was a bit nervous when turning the key as I carried out all of the above works and there was a 3 month gap between removing the cam belt and fitting the new one but it started on the button and boy have I missed that sound! Even my wife came running out to the garage in a bit of shock that it started first time...

Just the MOT to get booked in now and we're good for the summer season once more.

Fantastic, mine was only off the road 3 months but know the feeling hearing the engine crank up again.

Well done Sir! Understand the trepidation on first start up - worth it for the feeling when everything works though!
