Forum, can you help!
My Sat Nav is not working properly in that the map does not come up on the screen.

The little arrow appears and putting in destination only seems to work in Italy even though I am in Ireland, not too bothered about that as the main issue is getting the roads up! Can you help?

I am not familiar with the system, never had it in my 3200 nor GS, but plenty on here do. There is an NIT update disc, plus it could be simply that your sat nave disc has had it. If I were you I would take it to the main dealer and see if they will let you try the disc from another car. They might even do the NIT update for you, they dont usually charge.

I am sure someone on here will be along to help you further, oh, and welcome, which part of the world are you from?

Welcome to the forum dsmeed,
It may be that the wrong disc is inserted if it is only working in Italy,
have you tried ejecting the disc to see what it is?...if it is the correct one, try cleaning and re-entering it...
Regards,
Enzo.

As others have said, check the NAV DVD is in the CD slot. The car comes with two discs, a UK disc and a major roads of europe disc. If you haven't got one and need one, buy directly from Blaupunkt rather than a Maserati dealer and save ££££.

Dsmeed,

What year is the car?

Is it a NIT system like the 4200 or a Hard drive system like the Granturisimo?

Good point. CD or HD based. I think NIT stands for NodoInformaticoTelematico (in Italian something like that), ie just the central interface unit.
