I don't know that individual car, but it looks very lovely indeed and will be a nice jump up from your 2008 4.2 GT. Good luck.

Took the plunge. What a car!! Such a step up from the 4.2 / 2008 variant in both sheer power, interior comfort (just more comfortable but hard to articulate) and most importantly noise! (Neighbours will be pleased about switchable exhaust).

Now as this was a distance sale due to covid my first test drive was essentially after I had paid the money (a risk I know). Have had it out today as part of a longer trip to the supermarket and everything seems peachy.

So, plan is:
Am going to check with ODB scanner (I have the one in the yellow case (that has been referenced on here) which I know works as reset service light on previous car.

Hopefully am going to get it on a lift to look at the underside to check for anything obvious.

What else should I be looking for?

Going forward, I'm going to:
  1. get chassis protected. Can anyone recommend anyone in Yorkshire? Closer to York the better
  2. Have one of the updated head units from des on here so that needs fitting
  3. Potentially sports cats and X pipe from Larini

Anything else worth doing?

Thanks sprout

Oh you've bought THAT one.... Oh dear... How's the steering? They've seemed to have done a good job as blu sophicato is a difficult colour to match correctly. Oh and it's got black leather interior now... Hmmm.

No only kidding, that looks great. Hope you have plenty of good drives in it. One of the Yorkshire Dave Ws (Walker or Wells) should be able to point you in the right direction for a local Indy

You cheeky monkey! (Parenting forced me to tone down my initial response!) - my heart was in my mouth!

Assuming the 'daves' are on here?

Is that from our own Dicky Grace? If so I'd not bother scanning it, just drive.

The Pro-Star that I guess you have isn't going to tell you much of use unless you've got a CEL on, but I guess it might show something pending. See point 1)

Welcome!

<edit> Just checked it's not the car I'm thinking of. Lovely nonetheless

Was from a garage in Suffolk (Needham Market) called Kerridges. Absolutely fantastic to deal with.

Thankfully no check engine (car would have gone straight back) so as you say scan for pending just in case.

Good news on a distance sale is at can be returned within 2 weeks if any issues

Lovely colour.
Thanks. Am really chuffed. It reminds me of the colour of a VW polo I used to have (sample attached although this looks a bit darker than I remember which I had a lot of happy times with until mouse damage to the electrics caused early death) so I think there has been a sub conscious pull

I have used two specialists year York - both very good.

Alexander's prestige whilst not a maserati dealer have trained technicians and the appropriate scanning hardware.

Enso automotive near redline is a maserati and Ferrari specialist

i used JR classics (Joe) to treat the underside of my car, really nice guy and a good price for a quality service I felt. He is in Doncaster which is the only downside

Very nice. Same year and colour as the one I bought last week: apart from the interior that is. I went for an X-Pipe while it was in for inspection at SportsMaserati along with wax oil protection. Head unit being changed to the Apple Car Play module next.
