Maserati Spyder always seens to part of the essence of Maserati..Even the Biturbo...Always remember way back a chap in Chepstow had Biturbo Spyder and I used to stop and stare everytime if was at the local petrol station....and lets face it that wasn't the best looking Maserati. But it was a Maserati and that counts for alot. I was actualy a fan of the Biturbo....one of the few probably.

Twice over the years i nearly bought a Bi turbo and Later a Ghibli , but alas it wasn't to be , both were at car Auctions , the last the Ghibli was absolutely Mint , Hp repossession , the guy that was bidding against me and won the bidding said afterwards that if he had known i wanted it that much he wouldn't of bid at all , he was there on behalf of a garage just buying stock , so fate held me back from Masser ownership 20 odd years earlier , it went for £3800 which was peanuts for it then , saw it in the local rag a few weeks later at £7k , by that time i had bought a brand new Lancia Hpe Volumex to cheer myself up

What was the Lancia lke Loz...Did love the HPE as well.

Slightly off topic, I know...
But I had a Lancia gamma for a while...
Loved it, ran like a 3 legged pig most of the time,
but on the odd occassion that the boxer engine was tuned correctly it was soooo sweeet,
trouble was, only lasted a couple of weeks, then needed doing again!!
Regards,
Enzo.

Very understated car, was one of the fastest mid range cars of its time , top speed was then 155 mph and thats back in 1984 , was kind of flashy for a year , but my first ever new car and in true Italian style it lost loads when it came time to sell it

Gamma...Oh another blast from the past..Forgot about that one. When I bought my first car a black Fiat X19 Lido they had a Gamma for sale.....Remember looking at it and thinking how big it was next to the X19....I just love Lancia, Another name that has a romance about it...

Yes, it was huge.
Used to really like Lancias, but don't know whats happened to them recently,
None of the models I saw at the last car show warranted a second look in my book,
just the same boring, bland 'could be anything' type of cars...

Agree Enzo, Lancia lost it's way when it tried to be th 'BMW' of the Fiat brand...The last great Lancia was the Integrale. I had 16v and EVO 1 and it was brilliant. I drove a Dedra when it came out and just thought they had lost their way then.

Never had an integrale, but always liked them...

Gulp, that is exactly what Alfa are doing and I can see it going the same way.

Let's hope somebody spots this, slams on the anchors, and put's the strategy into reverse,
before coming up with a new one to take the brand forward as it does not deserve to die...

Alfa's bench mark for the new car was the Audi A3...A terribly boring drive...What are they doing.

Problem with Alfa for the last few years , is that they are looking at the market Place to find a section to fill , why in gods name , they should stick to what they know best originality and flair , and leave the computer fed info purely for the tech side , sounds to me they could do with giving Leepo a completely freehand in their design team for a year or two
