Just watching The First Assignment
Bugger me. 44 years old and I find the hairs are virtually stuck up on the back my neck for the whole thing. I get there's a load of memory at play, but even when filtering that out as a 50 year old this is proper spooky stuff.

He was so funny on Top Gear, he often prank interviewers during film junkets his best was 'I used to be a homosexual but gave it up as it made my eyes water'.
He also introduced the world to Joanne Whalley before Kilmer came along. Singing detective

Reading his obits it sounds like he had a wicked, even filthy, sense of humour - he would have fit in here well

I know he played wendyball but in a day when these guys were tougher than they are now, sadly Francis Lee died yesterday at 79. The team I first supported, Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee & Francis Lee even had the light blue kit. Later he went into the recycled paper business and when we were kids we played spot the F H Lee lorries just like the younger ones of you might have been Eddie Stobart spotters.
