Is an Assetto Corsa the MC-Victory equivalent for 3200?

Hi all,

Thread title says it all really - I’ve just been surfing on Dicky’s website and am intrigued as to what makes an Assetto Corsa special (apart from the lovely Boomerang lights and limited production numbers)?

There are some differences to the suspension including ARB that’s supposed to make them drive even better.

I don’t think the MCV had any mechanical changes but could be wrong.

I’m sure Richard will be along to give you a full lowdown.

It has quite a few mods, lowered , quicker rack, different anti roll bar. Carbon fibre brake ducts. It also came fitted with Pirelli PZero Corsa tyres, which must have one of the best looking tread patterns ever, ( Sadly no longer made, so no Pirelli debate required lol.) It was the pinnacle, and run out of the 3200. I owned a manual one for almost six years. So good I owned it twice.

And the seats, don't forget the seats, and the CF splitter and the lovely flags on the wings :)
Ah that carbon splitter. If I owned one I’d consider fitting a normal one and keep it in the garage to avoid ruining it!

My stomach still lurches at the site of you coming down that car park hill.

Special cars for sure, mine was also a manual.

They only came in silver, red or black and were limited to just 75 for the UK so were super rare when new and even more so now.
I only owned mine once but it suffered from worn thrust bearing washers twice causing end float, if that counts?!

Mine too, had an engine swap, for another Assetto Corsa engine, earlier in its life. Was always a worry, and I religiously had it measured each year for peace of mind.

Was the red piped black leather interior unique to the AC too? The 3200s certainly used up many a hide compared to later Maseratis, it was a very luxurious feel inside

The steering rack was a good mod.. but then all late 2001 models onwards had theses fitted as standard.

When I was looking for a 3200 it was an AC I wanted but they were far a few between. I did text drive a silver one at the dealer I bough my standard 3200 from....did the deal but they it feel through as the owner they were selling it for wouldn't put right the issues before sale and there were a few. If you want a 3200 the AC is the one to have.

@JonW I was in a bit of a rush when I was writing the advert yesterday. Now amended with my usual explanation of what an AC benefits from:

The Assetto Corsa is set apart by Carbon Fibre Interior Trim, 18 inch 15 Spoke Grigio Titanium Alloy Wheels with Rosso Calipers, Assetto Corsa Performance Handling Pack which includes lowered suspension, 15mm lower than standard, with stiffer springs, larger anti roll bar and a modified steering rack, drilled Aluminium Racing Pedal Set and Assetto Corsa Aluminium Kick Plates.
