To bring this thread to a conclusion, BMW finally got their **** together so we jumped on a train this morning and picked her up in Edinburgh.Space Grey with Sakhir and standard 19's. Looked stunning, I was so happy with our choice, the 19" wheels look great against the Grey. The M5 is a very colour dependent car and the best wheel choice is also colour dependent.
Stunning! So much advancement since the E60. Techno overload but after a couple of hours it started to become more familiar. The car handles very sweetly and the power is epic. I kid you not, I haven't even used half throttle. On summer tyres and damp roads its a constant battle for grip, the torque is there at any revs. The gearbox is instant, as a manual changer I was so used to the E60 changes that its taking some adjustment to the instantaneous changes of the F10. Amazing car, it boggles the mind how fast cars like the M5 are evolving.
I love the clockwise run from Perth up the 93, Balmoral, and back over Cairn O'Mount and through Angus Dundee etc. A lot of roads that were used on Top Gear and some of the Evo drives.
Looks nice mondie, but that dirty streak on the front wing...???
Looks like a very chosen colour combo, wish you happy times with her. I do like the 19s on it and actually think that M cars often look good on the slightly smaller wheels options. Both previous M3 incarnations looked better without the wheel upgrade for me. Handling should be better too so it's a winner all round.
Well done sir.
Still room for a wee Maserati weekend car....
Looks like it, I use that route all summer between Edzell and Aberdeen.
Always right to go the long way round on a good day/great road.
As I usually head to North Aberdeen it also works out quicker if anytime near "rush hour" .
yeah for sure Bob, going to order them today actually. The car would be undriveable in snow and scary on an icy rood too I suspect.
