I didn't need it either but the 'appointed by my insurer' accident management company were very pushyI am not speaking about being exploitative. Nor am I saying that someone should game the system. I would similarly not need or want a rental because I have four vehicles.
Unless it's my truck. In which case, the livestock aren't going to care who was at fault in which accident. They are going to care if they don't have feed.
Or if someone needs a van to earn their livelihood...offering them a Honda Civic isn't helpful. That's where the "like for like" comment came from. I am not suggesting that anyone needs a Lambo rental.
I appreciate the opportunity to clarify my position.
Plus, Ford Tauri are awful.
I had them on the phone twice pushing their hire car, even after I'd refused it they sent the paperwork, that's when I found out they were charging £220 a day
It's a massive scam in the UK, they lease cars then shaft the other insurance companies by charging exorbitant daily rentals
I got hit again in 2019, rammed from behind, they admitted liability, it turned out we were both insured with the same company, no £220 a day hire cars offered then, in fact I wasn't offered a car at all
