Hi guys
jumped in the car to move it today, put the key in to start and as I did I pressed the lock accidentally, tried starting and it just pulsed like a flat battery or immobiliser?
Anyway, got out the car locked and then unlocked and tried again but not starting? Pretty sure not battery as had a quick drive in it this morning and no issues.
Any ideas?

Define 'pulsed'

If the immobilser is on you'll get a light on the dash and it won't turn at all.

My bet is your battery is done

Just seems strange that it was fine this morning?
Pulsed, hmm, like it wanted to start but couldnt, as key turned dash lights off on and felt like it wanted to start but nothing? Can I assume if it was immobiliser, it would do nothing when key turned?

If the battery is flat / very low then you may hear the starter grind as it starts to turn followed by the lights on the dash dipping if they are on and usually some rapid clicks. Depends how flat the battery is.

If the immobiliser is as fault there should be a light on the dash i think it shows a steering wheel and word code from memory. You wont hear anything at all from the starter.

If you have no immobiliser light lit on the dash and it didnt try and turn the starter then your starter may be stuck or dead.

Charge the battery if you can and see if it makes any difference. Check the voltage on the battery if you have a volt meter.

If the battery is good then try tapping the starter motor body with special tool number 1 and then try and start it again.

If it starts you starter motor is sticking.

Battery. Almost certainly. Could be some other things but that's prime.

Ok, so went to car and doors wont open on key or fob? But the boot does ? Is this confirming battery or something else?

The key in the door should open the lock no matter what. If the battery is dead, the central locking won't activate the other side, though.

Also, you are aware that there's two buttons on the door handle? The one near the front being electrically assisted. Further back is a larger, solely mechanical button. So you should always be able to get in.

Not sure it confirms, but I'd still be looking at battery

Key 100% not doing anything , and boot not opening, no lights when pressing for. Must be as flat as a flat thing.
