i have had this throttle problem since dec now as some of you know, ive been waiting for a few people to get back to me via email and in the meantime i turn the battery off and not drive it....

i start it up every week and it seemed alright...i took her for a 40 min drive last week, nothing, alright the light is on but drives as it should...today i started her up drove for 20 mins and this time limp mode and hazard lights flashing and not going off and after 2 mins the alarm went off whilst driving.....

could it be immob related?? i have nick coming down on sun to give me a hand and see where we go from there but if we cant get anywhere on sun what do you suggest i do??
shall i get her towed to someone like grimaldi?? if so would my rac tow her that far??

I get the hazard light problem and alarm problem when my battery gets reset, I have an aftermarket system fitted which is a complete pain in the ar5e. To sort it involves opening doors and windows, setting the alarm, shutting doors, doing windows up and setting alarm again, eventually it sorts itself out. Get some strange looks driving down the road with the alarm going!

You had the current cel read as throttle pot? Hmmmm my cel has been on ever since I got it back from Luuk but its not in limp mode, I plan to get it reset next time it goes in for a service. fingers crossed we will fix it this weekend, otherwise I'd get it onto an SD2 for full diagnostics.

If we do the throttle pedal pot wire fix at least we will have eliminated that from the equation. Your description sounds exactly like mine was before I did the pedal pot wire fix so I am optimistic.

guys,

there are other things that can give a throttle pot error....with the risk of sounding controversial......the wire fix is not a permanent long term safe solution

Have to agree with Bill here.
The "wire thing" is just a fix to pospone the exchange of the Throttle pot.
Still: If you guys have done the "wire thing", please let me know which voltages you mesured at "no throttle" or "full throttle" on the white or yellow wires.
Even with the coupled wires, voltages could be out of range, causing limp mode.
I have seen a few pots, that gave less then 350 Mv at no throttle.
Diving below 350 MV while driving, could easily cause the limp mode again.

Went to do the pedal pot fix yesterday and found its already been done, prior to Dem's ownership so 3+ years ago. I suspect its the pedal pot itself as it doesn't go into limp mode, it won't even go to 3k rpm, in fact it doesn't rev at all. Strangley doing the throttle pot reset proceedure cleared the CEL (breifly).

Nick I am assuming you are talking about Dems car .....Like I said: there are other things that can show the throttle pot error....

Again guys, please measure the outputvalues of the pedalpot.
Measured at the white or yellow wires, voltage should be within 350-600Mvolt. (No throttle)
At full throttle it should be 2900-3700Mv.
If not, your pedalpot is gone.
If the mod was done 3 years ago, there must have been a problem then allready.
My guess: Pedalpot is a goner.
If you guys should doubt the TB, please do not hesitate and send it to me, i will return a new one, no problem at all.
But exactly these problems are the reason for a specialist in Holland NOT to offer a TB as a spare part.
Too often, other parts caused the problems making buyers complain, exchanging the TB did not do the trick....
Therefor the SD 2/3 test should be the first thing done when problems occur in my opinion.
