Been given one of these for a bit of a play:
http://www.threewayworks.com.au/superminibooster
Not available in the UK yet, but our next door tenant at work is looking to import them.
Disconnected my Triumph Stag battery completely for a test, and hooked it up to the leads using the crocodile clips.
Turned off the ignition supply so it wouldn't ignite, and it turned over the engine just as fast as the main battery!
Actually I never flattened it, was worried I might burn out my starter motor, very impressive.
The catch....the price :-(
...they sell at the current exchange rate in Australia for something like £160, so maybe more in the UK after import. A nice luxury over here, but a lifesaver if you are in the middle of the Australian bush I guess!
Would be great to carry in the Stag and Maserati , especially as push starting is not an option.
If it does work out for him and he starts importing, might try and get a discount for SportMaserati members!
