If you like to have fun in the dry and wet keep the Pirelli's, you can get the back end out just setting off from a junction. If you want proper grip then the Pilot 4's are insane.

I get the back end out pulling sedately out of my street on these things.

Don't open the Pirelli question up again, there are those that hate them and others that are wrong.

You can guess where I sit ;)
It's a good argument with no racism, sexism or gold for the first post at least.
Just sticky black rubber talk.

My QPV Sport GTS came with Pirelli PZero’s in a good/new state so have not experienced anything else -the back end steps out quite easily if you put your foot down. What’s the difference with the Michelin PS4’s? Handy to know when it becomes replacement time. I’ve got PZero‘s on the X5 as well but those are run flat and rock hard. Has anyone had Bridgestone potenza’s on a QP5 (preferably GTS Sport facelift) but I know - wrong forum

Has anyone tried driving on a P Zero run flat tyre when it’s flat? Just askin’.

Michelins were far better on my QP. Transformed the car in my opinion.

Run flat P Zeros? If you are tired of life speak to the Samaritans before you do something else stupid.
in South Africa all BMW’s are on run flats, probably something to do with the fact distances are big and all BMW’s come with a 5 year/100,000km maintenance plan which includes towing. You also don’t want to get stuck in some areas….I’ve had my car picked up 250km from home and all for free (the average cost is obviously included in the selling price). They’ll even come if you run out of Petrol. It’s a great way to have trouble and cost free use of a car For 5 years, it’s also extendable. But yes, the run flats are brick hard and awful…no choice. Also - a set of tyres costs me the equivalent of about £1200 - all imports.

I would switch to normal and have an armed guard in the back in case of puncture.

 Been there done that - 3 soldiers with machine guns in the back of my Defender in northern Kenya - the poor blokes didn’t even know where they were going or how they were going back, but orders of the local police chief. They were very helpful with looking for firewood though….2 spares though and a repair kit.

BMs over here are on run flats too. Utter sh!te; too hard and too expensive, you pay well over the odds to f*ck up your ride and handling. At the first opportunity I changed them to PS4s and it transformed the car.

I had 2 incidents in not so sunny usually damp South Wales on P zeros & decided not to roll the dice a third time.
New Ps 4s on same roads/conditions and honestly no drama whatsoever.

I favour 2 machine guns and a flame thrower for close quarter incidents. It really does smell like chicken on a bbq.

Went for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assy 5's in the end - I look forward to putting them through their paces, will be interesting to compare them with the Michelin's on the QP.

Currently on an unscheduled overnight in Penrith due to a blowout on the Kirkstone pass. Waiting for 2 Michelin ps4s to be delivered to the tyre shop this morning. Lesson learned an inflation kit is not good enough. Does anybody know if the spare optioned on the Ghibli is an inflatable one or not and if anyone has one could they measure the diameter from edge of tyre tread.

Having had both P-Zeros and PS4S on my Jaguar I think the PS4S are by far and away the better tyre. The grip difference made it feel like an AWD car.

I'd recommend PS4S, I also heard good things about Bridgestone and Continental(Which I'm considering trying). Check out Tyre Reviews as well on his website and YouTube, guy gives out some good details on specific tyres.

2 spare soldiers sounds sensible but what kind of repair kit you carrying for said soldier?

have four PS4 waiting to go on. my 3200. The QP was a revelation fitting Pilot Sport 4S to the rear. Long gone is the squirming feeling on motorway tramlines, like riding a bike with a flat tyre.

Good to note - I’ll probably change over to PS4 when my current P Zero’s are done - they tramline horribly. I also have them on my X5 though and they are fine on that car, no tramlining but they are run flats so maybe that makes them less sensitive to tramlining with the stiffer side wall.
