There is more footage from the other direction two cars revving, then he goes, lost it from the off.

So police attended but no arrests.... .. as Scaf points out, those people on the pavement had a lucky escape.

Per above apparently only available in Corsa mode. Which does turn those off (or at least down a lot....)

Cheers. Missed reading that.

I never turn the stuff off on anything modern, there’s no point on the road.

I almost always switch MSP off, and press the Sport button...! MSP is very intrusive...This does not switch off abs on a 4200.
If you watch the video from the other view, the guy slams his foot on the gas. Even after he loses the rear to the left , he shifts up a cog and keeps his foot on the gas, losing the rear to the right cos of the steering input he made.. There’s nothing telling him to keep it pinned, AFAIK !
Launch No Control seems more apt... :conf1:

Poor car really is buggered.

There’s no escaping the cameras. Drive a swanky car and there’ll be some sod ready in case it all goes tits up. Especially if you’re in showing off mode.

Nothing to do with tyres, more to do with the fact that the driver had no talent and no brains. Anyone with a modicum of sense drives within their ability and the conditions of the road. Imagine if a mum had been pushing a wheelchair with kid in it exactly where he crashed. He could be up for manslaughter right now.
No sympathy from me I'm afraid.

It's everything to do with tyres and as you say not doing it in a public place. Tyres need heat in them to work at full efficiency.

Reminds me of the one up in Scotland a few years ago, young lad showing off in a M2 BMW and was filmed leaving the road at 140mph. He spent a year in hospital along with his mrs.... He will never get over the injuries...

Car age = 0.11 years
Owch! I thought it was new, but that is new enough to have never needed a wash!

It takes longer to build one...!
You'd think Lamborghinii might do due diligence as a measure of self preservation...?! :yeah:

I don't even do it on the track......
....I'm a great big girl's blouse.

You only have to search YouTube for mustang crash to understand why I'll never use all the power off the line in race mode on Pirelli tyres , as for line lock , seems like a good way to trash £500 worth of tyres

I don't really understand the criticism of Pirelli Corsa's. I have them on my Exige, they're good tyres, but you do have to drive within their intended window of operation.
If owners drive without engaging their brains, then I have no sympathy. The tyre choice is not a credible excuse.

As in don't use in winter in the UK

My mustang has P zero's on , when it's cold you can barely pull away without them spinning

They might be great in countries that don't get cold weather but that's not the UK

They're sold in bulk on price to car manufacturers without consideration as to what climate they'll be used in

Great in summer, downright dangerous in winter

As I say, they have an operating window that's temperature sensitive. But, recognise that, drive accordingly with finesse and not a problem.

Corsa's are clearly not intended as a year round tyre, but the context of thread, to my eyes, is more about idiotic driving and less about tyres.

I can drive an Exige with Corsa's in sub 10 degree temperatures (sometimes combined with wet roads) and not get close to a dangerous situation. Not that that's what it's designed for, but the point is about the driver adjusting to conditions and available grip.

Would I drive with Corsa's in the snow or sub zero temps...no, not by choice at least. But I'd envisage most people that have a high performance car with sticky tyres have at least one, if not multiple alternative cars for more routine use in any case. Nothing wrong with the tyre's per se.

I think we're saying broadly the same thing, the only difference is, I think it's ultimately the driver that determines whether the car is driven within safe limits.
