Hunting for a Gransport

Hi all
Managed to get back on the forum after a few years without a Maserati!!!!
I have been looking, but have not found a suitable car.
Started looking for a 3200 but was deflated at what I saw, so up'd it to a Gransport.
Went to see a black and cream 05 in Iver heath which was said to be immaculate, but again was disappointed. At 27k I though it would be out of the box condition.
I am prepared to wait for the right one to come along and wondered if anyone has any pointers.
I'm not sure if I'm being too fussy, but both my 3200 and 4200 were near mint. To come back into the ownership of the marque, it would be hard to except anything less than perfect.
The prices seem strong for the GS but they just seem to sit there, the same 11 or 12 which are for sale.
Anyway, the search is still on but any help would be great.

Most will tell you to call the usual places dicky grace or adg. Novola. Might of got that last name wrong. But I got mine from adg and they where great to deal with. And the car was in top condition with a warranty. Good luck in your serch.

I feel the best cars are owned on here and they don't come up for resale very often as they never seem to depreciate and will only go one way. Couple that with Maserati moving away from the V8, they will only get stronger.

Yes I do have a good trawl through all the top sellers, and both my previous Maserati's came from ADG. They do have some nice cars and a couple of GS's at the moment, but not to sure on the dark interior's.
I was not aware they are not going to use the V8! But having the choice of a GS or an early Gran Turismo, I think I'd go with the GS all day long.

I share the same view I wouldn't swap my gs for an early gt. But an mc shift if I could afford one.

Dicky Grace knows whats available and also what may be available at some point, just let him know what you want, at what budget and he will start hunting..!! The GS is a cracking car, you would not be making a wrong move, but find one and get it checked over before the dosh comes out..!!

i know a great gransport, famous too :)

it might be a little too high mileage for what you maybe looking for. this one is in superb condinition but wont say immaculate due to a few minor marks here and there

wasnt a very low milage GS on here not so long ago, not sure if still for sale.

Welcome along & good luck with your search. Patience is the key I think, especially if you won't accept anything less than perfect, but if you stay tuned in here, eventually the right one will come along

Thanks Phil for the offer.
Having seen the GS in the flesh has really got me hooked.
And the only milage I did in my 3200 was back to ADG to get problems sorted. It only had 22k on it , but seemed to go wrong just sitting in the garage.
Now my 4200 FL " which is back on sale in North london" for 23k!!!!!!!!! was a joy. I had no problems in my 2 year ownership which steers me in the direction of the same engine. Although the 4200's do look lovely I feel the GS would be a new adventure for me.
Milage is not a great concern to me, as I'm sure a loved car will always stand out amongst the rubbish.
The one I went to see looked tied. Had had a lovely paint job down one side which was hard to spot. But the discs were rimmed, leather scuffed, patchy history and no evidence of the clutch being replaced. The stance of the car and combo looked amazing and it was hard to walk away. But later when it comes to resale I knew it would be tricky.
Thanks for all you input, I wish my wife were as intreated as all you guys! She says "I think you showed real self discipline walking away from it!!!"
I may well go and see the Blue one with beige interior. But it is a long way off. Anyone on here round the corner from it?

Thanks all
David

Had a quick google and found her posing by a black GS.:jptongue: Looks like it has the nero interior. One stipulation I do have however is a light interior. I know the dash in cream does reflect on the screen in the summer, but am prepared to put up with that as it looks so lovely. But sabia or cream is a must.

I'm looking for a GS, but as you say, there's not many about. Some of them which are available I think are optimistically priced. Some are not what I would say are in the condition as described.
And there are a few with interesting colour combo's.

Good luck with your search. Mine continues.

Yes Mark, there are some awful interior combos out there. Have you seen the Blue and sabia one for sale up north? After having travelled around a bit to see a couple described as immaculate, I'm not to keen on traveling 200 miles to see it. And Blue was not my first choice. But again it does look flawless in the add " like all the others"

It was the same 4 years ago when I bought my 4200.
I found that they don't wear well especially if not garaged and then run through the winter.
I nearly gave up, concluding that they were like old unloved Alfa's at one point but with a nice badge on the back!
Fortunately I found my 'gem', they do exist but in ever dwindling numbers.
As the years roll on, the good ones become more scarce and are held onto longer my their proud owners.

Is that the one at Lawton Brook? Was originally up for £31 or 32k. But has been dropping over the last 2-3 months.
I made and enquiry and the guy I spoke to says it's mint.
I think they are desperate to get rid as they've had it on their books for 6 months or so now. In my mind a good car sells quickly. If it doesn't it's either not a good car or the market thinks it's over priced. I will try and look at it at some point as one of my suppliers is nearby.

There's another at Simons which someone I know has looked at, and by all accounts the paint work is awful, and also has a lot of car park dents.
Again, to me if the bodywork isn't looked after, what else hasn't been?

If you speak to Alastair he knows of a few which are likely to come on the market soon so it's a matter of just finding the right one. I think two are blue though.

What colour combo are you after. I know of a few that are up for sale that haven't been put in the classifieds yet.
