HR Owen service pricing

Oh, and by the way, Maranello charged me £871 to replace a RHR lambda sensor, this was the reduced price after I argued that £1100 was totally unrealistic. They claimed that it took them a long time toi diagnose which sensor had failed. My OBD device told me in 5 minutes.

As a skilled technician mechanic for 45 years the diagnostic gear isn't always right so you can't always trust the information.
I've seen more vehicles to finally sort out what's wrong with them after people have fired the Parts Cannon and still the cars not right this just makes my job more difficult.
A recent one where the customer said it's not the MAF sensor as I've put a new one on.
Said Chinese one had no guts in it but a nice new one from Mercedes did the job.
There's a lot of skills involved in diagnostic work.

I forgot one of the replacements made by SI, was the one that had been expensively diagnosed and fitted by Maranello less than 12 months previously. Makes me wonder !!!

Hi all,
I took my 2019 Granturismo for its year 4 service to HR Owen in Wandsworth.

I had booked this appointment back in April and the lady verbally quoted me a figure of £3,245 inc VAT at the time.
When I turned up yesterday, they handed me a sheet which had the pricing at just over £3,800! They had even hand written the 8 over the printed price. (Which I couldn’t see)

I thought this must be a mistake and pointed it out. I also mentioned that the price I was quoted when I booked the service appointment. He said it was a mistake and did I have the quote in writing. (I didn’t)

After a lot of back and forth (The service advisor spoke to his manager) they reduced it to £3,541.

Begrudgingly I accepted, as I had travelled from Surrey and just wanted to get on with the day.

What do other members feel about this?
If you are quoted a service price when booking and are then presented with a different price on arrival, what are your options?

I wish I had asked for the quote in writing, but I didn’t know they would ask for more!

The year 4 service is excruciatingly expensive as it is (Lambda sensors etc) but this is ridiculous.

I’m really not happy with HR Owen here.
Sportsitalia is the go to place for a decent Indy price and fantastic work. Wouldn’t go anywhere else tbh

I just spoke to Meridian Modena who are unfortunately no longer an authorised maserati dealer from 31st August this year. They were extremely helpful on the phone but recommended I use an authorised dealer to ensure I don’t get an issues with maserati approved warranty claims further down the line.
Wow - new news. So they stopped two weeks ago.
That puts me in a quandary ref the future servicing of my Spyder.

Does this mean we can’t go to Ross Peters for parts anymore then? I’ve got that right haven’t I, that’s where he worked?

That’s a shame. Naturally we can get parts from dealers still but Ross was very helpful and a nice fella, used him quite a few times for bits here and there
He was a nice chap (probably still is)!! He was also very helpful, even when you weren't buying he was happy to do some homework for you!

Shame about Meridian. I bought and serviced my first GT with them and they were pretty good. The sales part left a few years back but new news that parts and service have exited stage left also. Not great

They (Meriden) still do Maserati parts, but no longer a dealer in New or approved Maserati cars or approved factory service centre.

Ross now works at the local petrol refinery, apparently it is his dream job.

In other dealer news I got this today,

“We are pleased to announce that HR Owen Maserati has been appointed as the new Official Maserati Authorised Repairer in South London.

The team at HR Owen Maserati South London looks forward to welcoming you to their newly opened service centre and providing you with the exceptional and personalised service, you would expect from Maserati.

HR Owen Maserati South London
65 Burr Road
Wandsworth
London
SW18 4SQ

For any future servicing or warranty enquiries, please feel free to contact your nearest Official Maserati Dealer using the Dealer Locator link below.

Best regards,
Maserati”

Maserati are also leaving the joint Ferrari dealership at tower garage in Egham and opening their own dedicated sales site in Ascot later this year (not sure about the service centre plans).

I called up different dealerships for my 4 year service on my 69 plate GT and in some cases advised I need the lambda sensors and carbon canisters changed on this service and at others advised it’s due at the 7 year service? If I don’t have to do it then it’s great as a lot cheaper but wondered what the actual service schedule is for a 2019 GT? Would like to be sure so I don’t end up in a situation where the warranty is invalid should I need it. Any advice appreciated

Does Joe Macari no longer hold Maserati dealer status? They are literally a few yards away from the new HR Owen address.

I’m fairly confident they are both required at 4year service if your sticking with Mas warranty

They don’t show up on the service centre locator. Only the two HR Owens in London (plus Marenello in Surrey)IMG_3186.jpeg

It doesn’t say they are on their web site so probably not.

They are Ferrari classiche service and restoration dealer though so perhaps as with most dealerships that have Ferrari they are separating themselves from Maserati so this may be the case with Joe. Being Ferrari I would imagine all have been told to distance themselves with Maserati or face the horses head in the bed consequences.

Joe Macari’s showroom was in breakfast TV in the week as they are giving a million pounds away and were showing you what could buy. The MC20 they had got a mention. They have some amazing cars in their showroom. Surely they must off one the best selection of super cars for sale in the UK.

I can see why there might be confusion as the replace marker is listed under the 7th service but the text says replace every 4 yearsDCF3BA2C-7DD8-4FA6-ACC4-4BC9306CEA5D.jpeg
