Another thing to think about is Infotainment.

There is 'no-Bose', 'Bose speakers', and 'Bose'. Bose has two extra knobs either side of the screen. Many cars, like the one below, are described as 'Bose' but are really just 'Bose speakers'.
@conero of the late-lamented SportsItalia used to offer an Carplay/Auto touchscreen interface upgrade, but not for 'Bose'' cars. Not sure what the situation is now with that.

Also there is 'single-CD' and 'multi-CD'. The multi CD unit is under the steering wheel. It is my understanding that only if you have multi-CD, do you then have the wiring to install Loudlink.
I've fitted Android head units to 2 or 3 different cars. There's a lot more out there than there was even say 5 years ago in terms of bespoke bezel surrounds to get the whole fascia to look OEM etc. That's probably the route I will go........if I intend on keeping the (prospective) car long term.

The Bose head has all sorts of different modules and amps. No idea if anyone has ever swapped one of these out. I would check the US site as they all got Bose over there in the QP. There may be more info on it there.
