So yesterday I'm driving up the road in the QP and approach two school boys walking towards me on the pavement - they're probably eleven or twelve years old. As I get closer, they both stop and the one takes a bow at me.

That was me at that age and it made me smile.

It's funny, I took mine out one day and a 4 year old knew the brand!

The QP gets attention, probably more so than any other saloon I know. It might have issues but at the end of the day, it's got a Maranello power plant and that speaks volumes.

I love the reaction of kids - they all seem to love a Maserati.
I was parked by a coffee shop at the weekend and a father and young son (guessing 5 or 6yrs old)
came and sat at table next to me. They did not know it was my car and the kid says wow dad look at
car, it looks like a Maserati - dad was impressed too.

Not had anyone take a bow - but lots of "nice car mate"

I love the kids reactions too. Letting them sit in it helps to foster a new generation of petrol heads

I suspect he was probably "mooning" to his mate across the road! ;)

I had a similar experience the other week in the local Morrisons car park. A little girl stopped in front of me and shouted "wow mum look at that! It's a Maserati.." her mum was of the milf variety which was fab until the Mrs timed her return to the car nano seconds later.

It's more usual to get a comment on any day than to not. Even if I don't notice, my passengers normally comment on the people staring or pointing.

I must admit they always attract attention, my other half hates it as she describes it like being in a goldfish bowl.

Where do you lot live??? And do the locals still point at aeroplanes in wondermen?

Can't recall the last time someone gave the GS a second look except at shows or in France where the locals have rarely seen a non Citroën or Peugeot diesel.

Most people in London and Bristol walk around like zombies looking at their phones unaware there is a deal world around them.

I'm always surprised at the attention, especially with mine being 'just another silver car'.

It'll never beat the Elise for attention though - It's loud and bright green ;)

Back when the Elise was silver, and lived outside, I came out to find someone had kissed it over night. Lipstick marks are a pita to clean off.

Went for a spin yesterday and was asked to "Rev it" by a group of boys. They were astounded when I said no it is not brand new but 17 years old.

I've just moved to Chalfont St Peter and it's night and day the reaction I get around here compared to living in Southampton. There people would comment favourably, give me the thumbs up and even take pictures of the GT. Here I may as well be driving a Mondeo...even when in Sport mode! I must admit I've never seen so many Porsches, maybe they are just blase about cool cars. Driving back to Southampton to visit friends meant my kudos was left intact as people actually noticed the car and liked it.

lol I drove round there recently into St Giles with the valves open and got some pretty negative looks! You need a louder car!

That always happens near me. And I often get "wanna swap?" For a family car or something.
Although on Tuesday a bloke offered to swap his Zafira for the GTS and he'd even throw in the wife! (Who was sitting next to him!). She wasn't to shabby to be honest!

Nothing to beat a kid wide mouthed as you drive past, unlike adults, they cannot hide their excitement at seeing something special and nice......never fails to make me smile.

That's better than the rusty Mitsubishi that was offered to swap mine for :)
