How do we get Ghibli owners to join the forum?

Maserati sold 214 cars in March of which I guess practically all will be Ghibli diesels. Thing is there are very few Ghibli owners contributing on the forum. How do we change this?

New car owners rarely visit forums, well not most of the ones I have been on over the years

Agree with Andy. I guess a lot will have bought them because they aren't German rather than because of any enduring passion for the marque. You rarely see new ones at car shows and events.

This.

Its only when they fall out of warranty and they work out that they are getting their pants pulled down that the owners turn to the forums.

Mind you, from what I am hearing about the Ghibli and QP warranty, they will be here sooner rather than later.

You don't see them at the events either so they don't have the same sort of allure but of course am open to any suggestions to attract them and change that if we can.

Would imagine a lot are company cars and lots have these have no interest in the forum. As Matt has said when they come down in price and enthusiasts buy them we may see more on here.

Patience. Just as lots of members here are realising how good these cars are with the right spec and engine choices, so as they age more enthusiasts like ourselves will get a hold of them. Fast forward a couple of years and I suspect the Ghibli owners will be right up there alongside the other models.

Yes a shame really as I would value their opinions
The Ghibli is on my radar for the next car?

MAF and Athol have both bought them, they do say they are very good, just you need to get the inside track on the warranty. Do that by PM if you would.

I'm a new member who bought a Ghibli. I'm a month into ownership now and no problems.

One thing I would say is that finding the forum isn't that easy for a new owner. There are others you get to first. I only found it because I was looking at the groups attending Cars In The Park at Newby Hall

If Maserati had any sense they would promote likes of this forum to any prospective or new purchaser.
New members on here singing praises of the new car may persuade others here to trade up.

Seen this done very successfully by a Ducati main dealer who put everyone through the door in touch with a club.
Purchaser immediately felt one of the "group" and their experiences led to enquiries from the club to the dealer enquiring about new bikes.
Everyone scores.

Having been an owner for just over nine months, as you are probably aware from my previous posts etc, a Ghibli diesel. I can confirm no major issues.
The stop/ start feature seems to activate itself on odd occasions, easy to disable again. The voice activation can be a little temperamental, particularly address entry for the Sat Nav.
Really apart from these, the reliability has been fine. I can leave the car 7-8 weeks at a time always starts first time. From what I have read on the U.S Ghibli forum, the diesel is more reliable than the petrol.
A lot of improvements were made for the 16my to improve reliability and refinement. and although at idle particularly from cold you can tell its a diesel if you listen listen to the engine, on the move it's probably quiter than the petrol, and a press of the sport button produces a V8 rumble allbeit digitally produced, from the exhausts.
Performance is more than adequate for me with 600 n.m of torque.
Finally although a 'diesel' Maserati, for me it has a specialness that's missing in the usual German competition.

I'm pretty sure it will. I'm a bit too long in the tooth to be outrunning people on the roads so having a diesel ain't no hardship. The Sport mode gives just enough sound to put a smile on your face - even if it is artificial - so all in all it's balance of everything I need performance-wise, and the cachet of the marque. It's both beautiful and rare.

Having read on here how cheap they are to buy second hand has piqued my interest in them. I was looking at an Alfa Giulia but if I can get another Maserati for the same money then I'd be foolish not too. They're bound to share parts, and hence the value of a forum like this.

Welcome Nick. Enjoy your collection tomorrow. Nothing wrong with the diesel Ghibli. In fact, having had both, I think it suits the car better than the petrol. Been to Leeds and back in mine today and it still feels special and an event

Enjoy it Nick it's always good to see more Ghibli owners on here.

Still don't get the diesel thing in Italian sports marques but each to their own.
