How do I turn off my Spyder alarm?

When I put my car on the ferry I locked the car with the key - hoping/thinking that the alarm wouldn’t be activated…but found it had been squealing while I was upstairs having my full English. About to do an overnighter boat home - anyone know how I can lock the car without activating the alarm??

(& for bonus points: how do I stop the car letting rip with a bunch of annoying beeps whenever I start it?)
Thanks!

I think you can lock it with the key and alarm does not activate.

There will be a button somewhere for sure, with a symbol depicting a tow truck.

If you hold the button down when you lock it. It turns off the ultrasonics but not sure if it turns off the motion sensor too.

There isn’t a button like that on the coupe. The only option is:

Lock it and then isolate the battery. Make sure you know how to get into and can get into the boot with the key so you can turn the battery back on before you leave the ferry.

Thanks Zep. I’ll try this and hope there isn’t some other movement sensor (think some car alarms go off if they’re being picked up etc).

Re disconnecting the battery idea - I’ve thought about that but there seems to be a load of stuff about having to reset the windows, roof etc. And don’t want to be stuck on a boat trying to fix it while it sets off back to Spain!

The reseting the windows and stuff tends to happen if the battery has gone flat or low charge.

If your just isolating the battery then it isnt normally an issue.

If the alarm keeps going off on a long ferry trip then you may well come back to a flat battery.

Im not 100% certain but i think there is a tilt sensor on the alarm system somewhere so the alarm sounds if somebody tries to toe the vehicle or is bumped while parked.

If you do go down the route of isolating the battery crack the drivers window by 5 mm before you lock the car with the key. Just incase you forget to reconnect the battery first when you come back to the car so the window is clear of the channel / seal.

Had this exact issue arriving in Palma from Barca on a ferry when I had my GS Spyder. Flat as a pancake - nightmare. Cue loads of cars trying to divert around us on disembarking.

On way back took anything valuable with us (good thing about these you can't take much luggage) and left it unlocked. Figured it wasn't going anywhere during the trip.
