Thought it was a partnership Frank, between Uk and Delorean and funded by the well known drinks brand Pepsi or was it Coke , something like that

Brilliant P could not believe half the stuff i saw in that from working into todays motor industry.
Workers wearing jewelery and watches, pens in pockets.
Best bit was the guy sat on the roof of one of the production cars.
The end was brilliant is that what we are going to have to go and do to Maserati.
I will start growing my tache again.

I remember the outcry from that time when they went bust. polititians , the media all jumped on the bandwagon and had a field day slagging off the goverment about what a waste of money & how badly the company was run.
but the end of british leyland revealed the same.
If you were'nt a working man in a deprived area back then , you probably wont appreciate just how good the decition to invest public money on this project was . but it failed. if it had succeeded they would have biult a statue of Maggy , (someone would have bombed though). but the goverment just gave them the money and did'nt follow or check the investment with any sort of dilligence and people in other parts of the world got rich.
how I wish the goverment would invest money in job creating project today. then perhaps we would have some hope for our kids future and not another generation that does'nt have skills.
Not likely to happen tho.

I've been to the Lotus factory a few times and remember one visit just after I had taken delivery of a new Elise which needed some paint sorted as the quality was nt good....Had a factory tour and there was a roller shutter door which the chap said was the most important area...Quality control......So up went the door and there were 4 men sat about in white coats drinking tea.......I said that would explain it......They may as well been having a *** as well and reading razzle...
