Dan just read this mate, so sorry to hear the bad news. They are all Scum one of the reasons I left London & the South was this type of ****. I now live in an area that has very little theft if any. I'm sure it will get to hear in the end but a small community and 12 miles of water with a ferry for getaway makes it less appealing to them.

One down side of living here is that you get a rollocking for NOT leaving your keys in the car, people waste time having to LOOK for them before they can go any where! Problems come when you drive Darn Sarf and park your Disco 4 in Slone square with the keys in the ignition for 5 hours!

Really sorry to hear this Dan, it would freak me out somewhat! It's the kind of scenario that I know exists but always seems to be a myth in that it never happens to you or someone you know. Really brings home the reality of what goes on in the world when something like this actually takes place.

Oh well....at least you can enjoy buying a new car ;)

Thanks again for your thoughts everyone.

Had a visit from the Garda last night, very odd dealing with non-UK police and the fairly typical Irish liberal use of swearing. "Ah they're f*ckers boy, w@nkers the lot of them" etc
He pretty much admitted that the gang doing it are running amok and they have had little luck getting anywhere near them. They take the cars across to the north where the NI police are "not interested" and then strip them down for parts that are then sent all over the world in containers. Funny that they know all this yet seem unable to catch them. The chances are that the cars are sat in a field somewhere for a few days to see if they have trackers on them and if they don't attract any attention are then stripped down.

Apparently, for new cars less than a year old the person nicking it gets a grand. For older stuff it'll go down to a few hundred. Again, they know all this yet don't seem to be able to get the people involved.

I'll keep you posted on any further developments....

Until then, anyone ever had an EVO FQ320?

No, but a friend had one. He didn't like it much and to be honest, neither did I for the simple reason that outside of the crazy performance, it was a largely bland and not particularly pleasant car. You may enjoy one for a short while but once that performance novelty wears off, you'll be wanting rid!

Oh, said friend also managed to write it off. By his own admission he ran out of talent, it left the road, went through a hedge and rolled twice. He was very lucky....especially when his wife got hold of him as he did this one week before his wedding day!

Dan My good friend is Inspector in the PFNI if you give me the details I can ask him to put the plod on the look out for it. Don't laugh lads he and his team found my mates fireblade that had been stolen at the NW200 a few years ago.

Gave the thief a good TALKING TO as well.

Evo's are a ticking time bomb, just waiting to explode and land you with a big bill, they are super quick but i think they are so boring.[/QU

Is that right Adam...Never heard that before...I know of 3 people who have had EBO's and they have been ultra reliable.....................They are a great car to be honest. I prefer then to the Skooby...Drove one and it blew me away......It was like it was on rails....

Reliable as sin Adam. A very good friend has an FQ330 which he got from new. It's now done nearly 70k and he recently had it tuned to 390bhp with 420lb/ft. Apart from consumables it has rarely missed a beat and is faster than most things around here. Obviously the ones you have been in weren't being driven with any vigour because they certainly aren't boring. Bland maybe but, as a drivers car, certainly not boring.
