@Willyou said it had only done 15,000 miles.
There's a few that will be twitching on here thinking it's high mileage at 15,900 :)

Nah. Mine was on >53k when I sold her and was still running as sweet as a nut. Loved, these cars run and run and run.

Yep, that's the one Sherlock!!
:)
Didn’t take a lot to guess as I’ve dealt with Ken before. He’s a straightforward chap, seems honest and happy to rectify any issues that come up. His cars seem genuine enough. My strong advice however would be to get someone who knows these cars well to inspect it. He could have missed something that you have to live with or rectify further down the road and although it might seem hassle now, the investment in getting it inspected means your fully aware of the likely future issues (if any). Looks like a good car to me (as all his cars do) but also do a detailed check of the service history with your own eyes to validate a good MD/specialist Indie maintenance record.
These cars are pretty robust in my view and with that mileage if it’s been well maintained it’s only things like subframe and general corrosion that I personally would worry about. Worth making sure there is decent life in tyres, brake disks and pads or factor in the replacement into your budget as they cost a few quid (although knowing Ken these will have been attended to if too far gone).

Or just buy it and have a massive grin on your face as you drive away!

Thanks for this. Yes, Ken seems to have a very good rep. Tyres are good but will def get the car, esp. the sub frames, checked by a pro.

Hi Will,
Firstly, good luck with the search and look forward to seeing what you eventually buy. I bought my Granturismo back in early May, so far so good. I received superb advice through the forum.

Your original post made me go and check under the bonnet to compare against your pics. I’ve not yet had this area fully cleaned etc as on purchase it was original and fine. See pics below, I’ve tried to take them in the same place you have, so aside from the dust that collects (which I’ve wiped off in a couple of places so you can see what’s underneath), it looks pretty good. My car is a MY13, so late 2012 GT Sport.

Hey, thanks so much for sharing. I'd say yours looks slightly better but similar kind of wear on the aluminium. I'm increasingly confident about the car now but will def get it checked. Love your GT, colour combo is just gorgeous!

Thank you, yes they are lovely looking cars. To be honest there is no rust on the sections on mine where you have rust. It’s dusty yes, but below that is rust free, although I can see surface rust on the top of one bolt. As others have said, check the car for sale out thoroughly to ensure there are no premature signs of corrosion elsewhere. As Conaero mentioned it may just be surface rust that can easily be addressed.

Jules.

You’re joking. Thought you had proceeded to deposit stage as you were talking about inspections.
Was literally about to as Ken had just sent the V5...hey ho, que sera and all that. And there are others in my sights...

That’s the spirit. Everything happens for a reason.
And the upside is I've learned a **** of a lot from the good peeps on this forum, so my next find will be better informed. (And still keen to know how the rattan welding went :))

It was better than expected, I found some metal, should take the weight now. Sorry to hear about the car.
