More general curiosity as what it might be able to do. The code change and stuff is fine, cos it's listed on the front but we never use it. It *seems* to only have PIR's and with two cats at home, it's not really sensible to leave it on. I'll see if I can find the model number. Is there likely to be a control box somewhere, as I have a couple of keypads, but that's about it.

Thanks!

Don't do that! They're a complete rip-off and don't have good reviews. Their monitoring charges are extortionate. Have a look at the company I posted a link to earlier.

Second that - steer clear of Chubb as well, too big a firm for the domestic market - they will sell you the worlds biggest alarm system that would deter the Pink Panther himself.

By the way wireless v wired, quick forum search on maserati throttle problems then compare search to similar problems on old british sportscars with a throttle cable.

No brainer really

Will be a control unit somewhere if keypads are small units (loft/airing cupboard etc). Can buy "pet immune detectors" which will help unless your cat is built like an elephant and bounces around the room when you are out! There will be some blurb on these at securitywarehouse.co.uk explaining how they work. Would be a simple swap over of power and switch pair.

Ex ADT no no no. Small local is the way to go these days and they have normally been trained up by large companies along the way.

Thanks Gaz! That's very cool, the controls are basically keypads so I shall hunt for a control box and look at the detectors. Although I was thinking of home brewing a Z-wave ;)

C you can get sensors which will allow you to have the cats wandering around the house with the alarm on.

I will, ta. Found the control box, and the sensors seem very reasonably priced. A little job that's weather independent.

It may go off when you take the lids off as they have a tamper switch (if they were wired). Punch in code to shut it up, do changeover and reset panel. Job done.
