I'm sure I'm in the minority...but I file pretty much every BMW under "hideous."

Um.

Guess I'll just go see what's going on in another thread, now...

You must be too young as they made some Great cars in the 70's 80's and early 90's.
A good friend of mine who worked for BMW in Bristol majority of his working life told me not to buy one made after 95.
Last one I owned was a 95 E36 M3 3.0 :)

Yeah, I should have been more specific...really meant since the turn of the century...

Just brought my brother in law’s 10 yr 640d back from Heathrow. A quite competent good looking luxobarge. First one I have driven.
Best bit for me? The multi-coloured dot on the speedo rim indicating cruise control speed and state.

My e46 was the best car I’ve owned

The M3 that followed was lovely looking but I just didn’t gel with it and only had it for 6 months.

My CSL was just a brilliant machine…My E46 standard M3 was also. Oh and my old M3 EVO 2 and not forgetting the M5. Oh and my 645 was a great GT….Great cars everyone.108894108895108896108897108902

I bought this instead of the BMW you had, @Andyk ...good riddance to it, too. Will be the last Benz I ever buy, as well, methinks. And I don't want another 911. So maybe I'm just done with the Germans, in general...

Sounds like you didn’t have a great experience my friend. I loved mine and they were a great experience to own.

Oxford Green E39 touring and Estoril Blue E46… from a time when a 3 or 5 series was properly good looking. Hat tip to you sir.
540i too. Unfortunately it was a bit of a dog and with hindsight I should have kept the e34 that preceded it. Loved that car. One memorable morning whilst towing the race car to Silverstone i overtook a bloke in an Aston who up until that point thought he was the fastest thing on the M40

Agreed...it's totally based off of what I dealt with, brother. Had an older 3 series convertible with MT and loved it. Just disappointed with last go-round...and the new ones just kind of leave me cold...

Gonna caveat this...our friend Todd C is building a pretty special little thing after having lost his Mas. So, my verdict may change after a trip to the Pacific Northwest. But otherwise, I would not have thought about picking up another BMW.

Other than M1 , Z1 and perhaps 8 series they all look the same to me. Why would I want a German Ford? lol
