My boot open button didn't release the boot but yet the petrol filler button did. Think the mechanic replaced the actual switch rather than the fuse.

Its the same switch as found in any Alfa GTV, there will be several in your local scrap yard.

yes the boot will not lock.it looks like there is no power to it ,thge fuse is ok,the switch in glovebox makes no sound whereas the filler cap switch works fine.

Boot lock does not need power to operate, although the switch does (obviously)

Have you tried using the key in the boot lock? I think that someone has suggested the that the boot is open, but the lock is shut. Unlock it with the key, and you may be good to go.

Otherwise, where are you based? I'm sure any of the more mechanically minded members would happily take a look. I'd be happy to have a poke if it would help. I'm quite familiar with the gubbins having installed remote opening on mine.

Yes I mentioned that a while back, make sure the lock is actually in the open position by using the key in the boot lock..!!

How do you know the solenoid is bust? Just for info if you press the release once, it will not fire again until the boot has been shut. So if the boot is open, you press the button, nothing will happen. This caught me out when I was fitting the remote release.
