Hello everyone, I am new on the site which has been very helpful on my pending decision to get a Grancabrio Sport. All the posts here have been super useful.

Was looking at new or almost new and all was going very well down to just a couple of colour choices when I came across a few articles that suggested they will be a Brand new 2015 Granturismo and Grancabrio. I think this would be so bad for residuals. Have you heard about this I would love to hear your thoughts.... I am thinking of maybe not getting the car? I wish they had told me in the dealers rather then me finding out by chance?

There's a Maserati product timeline PowerPoint slide floating around that shows things like that...have a browse through the Alfieri threads.

Based on this, I'd say buying one now will be safer for the next couple of years as they will stop production soon, so making late-model cars a rarity.
You'll never get someone on this forum telling you not to buy a Maserati!

Get stuck in now. You'll get a good few years of fun then pick up a nearly new in 2016 or 17. No way will you regret it.

COgsy is right and the new car may not look as good as the current one...Just look at the new QP against the old one......You will not regret it.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. .. The problem is it sounds like this will be an all new one, lighter, more powerful with better infotainment ... This is the worry, how did the quatraporte react when the new one came out in terms of price and residuals anyone remember/experience? Also other then going for a used one how else do I limit my losses?

i don't think the new QP hit the old ones used prices as it was aimed at a different market.....Prices of the old Qp seem to have held firm. ..Thing about the Grancabrio is that its a very rare car even compared to the Coupe so will always be desirable and hold its value probably better than say a GT of the same age...YOU just have to look how many are for sale at one time....and the Sports version is even more rare.

Maser have enough on at the moment, can't imagine a new one in the next year or two. Get one now and enjoy much better than any impact on residuals

That's from over a year ago, and a lot more information (not speculation) has come out since. The "new" GT they talk about is now '18 or so.

Just to clarify, these are the plans that Maserati have us believe
Levante 2015/16
Alfieri 2016/17
GT 2018
GC not sure yet.........
