Hi all,

New owner here and just encountered a problem with my Heater Blower. All switches function normally, ie they show correctlky on info center as per function selected, however the heater blower simply does not work.
Was working 100% fine last weekend, so thought "Hmm, must be a fuse." Duly checked fuse nos. 5 and 45 and all OK.

Anyone any other suggestions ?

Thanks in anticipation....

And believe it or not, Air Con failed when it was actually 24 degrees in Glasgow.... Sod's law...

Thanks Safrane.
Tried that. Isolated battery overnight, then started up car and left running for ten minutes at idle as suggested on another forum. (This incidentally cured the roughness at low revs)
Anyway, still no heater blowers.
Tried the HVAC reset procedure - still no joy.
Found plug under dash as suggested by Catman. Disconnected and reconnected it - nothing
Tried HVAC reset again...... Still nothing

Anything else anyone can suggest, or do I need to go to the Maserati 'Stealer'ship in Hamilton ??

I had a very similar problem , found out that it's water collecting in the bottom off the fan housing where the wires connect to the fan . If you look under the dash in the passenger footwell behing the glove box you should be able to see the cable that goes into the plastic moulded housing off the fan housing , The wires pass though a rubber type grommet All I did was prize out the grommet and clear out the bits of leaves and dried out the connections , havnt had the problem since . Worth a try and costs nothing .
Here's a pic

Let me know how ya get on , I also left the grommet out for a few days to give it a chance to dry out

The HVAC seems to have a self test, and if the fan isn't right when you boot it up, it won't work at all for that cycle.

I think you need to check that plug carefully as I (again) suspect that they are prone to failure due to the high current. Alfas have been known to suffer from the same issue.

Guys,

Thanks so very much for all the advice.
I removed the grommet as suggested, no water etc came out. In frustration I started wiggling Catman's aforementioned plug and lo and behold, now got a working heater !!!!!!
Felt just like Jeremy Clarkson when he takes a hammer to everything !!!

Again guys, many many thanks

I’ve had the same problem and after wiggling comes back on. Problem is if I hit a bump it will sometimes stop working and I have to get under the dash again! Does anyone know of a more permanent fix?

Cheers, I’ll take a prober look. Access not brilliant but connector looked ok although haven’t taken it apart to be honest.

I would, just to be sure. This is a known issue on these cars. The connector gets hot, which increases the resistance, so it gets hotter. And etc.....

Just out of interest, what is the aforementioned HVAC reset procedure (am assuming this is not just a battery reset) ?
